No points for red edeal tickets?

I have just asked our corporate travel agent to look at trans-tasman flights, and she said that qantas no longer give ff points or SC for red-edeal tickets.
Is this true? Is this QF's new way of keeping customers?
I know that Air New Zealand do not give airpoints for their cheapest transTasman tickets. A few friends have jumped from Air NZ to Emirates because of this.

not true. I imagine there would have been an uproar on this forum by now if they had made that change.

Although some corporate contracts may have clauses that prevent SC/Points earnings on flights, all paid tickets (except a few special cases like FF point redemption tickets, promotional tickets, prize tickets, staff tickets etc) earn SC's and points.

I did red-edeals a couple of weeks ago to NZ and point def. posted.

Maybe there is a new corporate rate which doesn't earn points (like some govt contracts?)

It is probably the Jetstar issue that has confused the agent. I am traveling on both to end up in Newcastle

I found this out the hard way on Monday when our Agency booked me Jetsaver Light BNE to CNS. After I strongly protested that I was away for a week and needed the baggage allowance, they changed it to basic Jetsaver which does not accrue points or SC's.

I would think that they ould either have to
a) Introduce a new fare class that was not point earning
b) Give six months notice of the change to red-e-deal

They have not done either, as far as I can tell.

I booked QF using Trans-Tasman fares earlier this week (MEL-AKL-MEL for AUD246), these were booked into O class.

The fare rules can be found here: Bookings - Fare Types

• Flight Upgrade Awards are not eligible on this fare.
• Points and Status Credits are not earned when travelling on Qantas Any Seat Awards. Classed as Discount Economy when Status Credits are earned on this fare.

This has changed slighted since July the first due to the introduction of "Any Seat". In any case, the following from the T&C's is pertinent for Qantas/JQ Trans Tasman travel:

So MEL/SYD/BNE to/from CHC on JQ metal (even with a QF flight number) might not earn, but that's it.

Usually I look it up and email TA my request, but our secretary got involved and TA used her judgement and it got to the stage where I just asked to stop everything and start again. It has been easier to organise RWT at end of year with kids than a trip to Newcastle.

Perhaps you confused them by including MLB in the routing. Most people would prefer to route via Melbourne, Victoria (MEL) than via Melbourne, Florida (MLB) unless on a real mileage run.
