Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Yeah its a red, not a Rose. I'd trust the winemaker over random merchants.

Yes it is a red, I will start calling it a Rose "style" wine when offering to friends in the future

"this unique red fleshed grape has allowed us to make an easy drinking, full flavoured, low alcohol Rose style wine"

If anyone gets the chance, I recommend trying Hurlo's Rose from Delamere Vineyard

After a week off alcohol, we started with a few beers then a nice Friday Night Chardonnay to finish. (Plus some single malts later tonight.)

Particularly lovely WA Chardonnay, limes, lemon, light butter and oak, maybe flint, lovely depth. Yum status.

Steady, I was drawn to my last Tolpuddle 2015 Pinot Noir - drinking it last night and tonight.

Last night (without any decanting), it was very upfront oak on the nose and there was a dominant taste that I couldn't quite place. Had crackers and Mersey Valley original cheese that I thought went well together.

Sudently tonight it changed to to a softer oak and I finally realised the taste from last night - grapefruit. A fruit I love so taking the last glass slowly. Tonight was with a Mainland Vintage Cheddar.

Whenever you see it on special please let me know. I need more

After a bit of a blah week we decided to drink something a bit nice. Smooth and easy to drink. Just the right amount of age for me too.

I recall somebody recently asking for a recommendation on a straight Aussie Merlot.

I've found one!

And it's really rather nice:

It got a Wozza 92.5/100 (3.7) from me because it was such a nice tasting, well balanced Merlot, with fine, unmistakable Hunter characteristics to boot. I really enjoyed it. As did 5 others at Friday Night Drinks: http://www.vivino.com/users/warren-dav/reviews/62882161

Taking one for Amaroo tonight. Was a hard choice but given the honour, I though this Bordeaux blend would be suitable.

Proves to be drinking exceptionally well.

parting is such sweet sorrow….. aka sugar and spice and all that's nice...

One of the sorrows (many , some may say) of buying hot deals from the 'fo , is the lack of backup or repeatability..

Tonight is day 2 of my last bottle of Helen & Joey pinot.
Some wines just hit the spot and this was one.
Ok, it's got a little residual sugar , but the spice and the general quaffability rings my bell

Adios H&J it was really nice while it lasted...
