I'll go first.

What is a DONE4?

What is the Platinum challenge?

:)

Mahtoh,

The answers to most of these type of questions are available on Airline Loyalty Programs, Qantas Frequent Flyer, The ULTIMATE Qantas Guide.

Look here first and then see whats missing. Lindsay is very thorough but he MAY have missed something :!:

Good luck. :D :D :D :D

A "DONE4" is a 4 continent Oneworld Explorer ticket (round the world ticket) in business class.

D is the booking class (D is discount business)
ONE is short for Oneworld Explorer
4 indicates that it is a 4 continent ticket.

For example, a 5 continent economy is a LONE5

L is the economy booking class for this type of ticket

Lindsay miss something? No chance!

mahtoh, welcome to AFF.

When in doubt about terms, use the Search function (at the top of the page, between FAQ and Memberlist). Using the search function would have yielded:

* 61 matches to the term "DONE4". One of the threads there is Abbreviations & Explanations. See BlacKnox's seriously good list (post 7).

* 120 matches to the term "Platinum Challenge". Without doubt, Dave Noble's thread AA Platinum Challenge - Tips is without peer. His knowledge about it is legendary. I know from first-hand knowledge (mine pales by comparison).

straitman & damian, you are both misguided, however the cheques are in the mail. Actually, the ULTIMATE Qantas Guide needs an overhaul, however I am struggling to find the time to do it.

Thanks. I know it will change depening on itinerary - but what is the range of prices they usually are?

Actually the prices vary depending upon where in the world you start from and purchase the ticket from.

For example, the base price of a 4 continent Business class fare (DONE4) is over AUD3,000 less to buy and start from SriLanka, than from Australia.

Here's a couple of helpful links:

to a very helpful Excel Spread Sheet
to a raw price list and FULL rules
