New QF points calculator

Looks good. One small point is the limited European destinations - FRA and LHR only. What about the EK routes? Does include EK earning as well.

Even more depressing is from MEL, only LHR shows up. Would be nice if they loaded the EK routes in. Don't think they will loading the CX, BA, AY routes via Asia anytime soon.
However it would be nice to load the MH into the system to work out which routes actually earn points and/or SC's.

And there's a "would you like fries with that?" side bar to encourage you to trade up to the next level.

Have to say a BIG well done to QF on this and look forward to seeing the complete destinations and airline list available to select.

But as above WELL DONE QANTAS.

Happy to say, yes, good feature, well done QF web people.

Mind you, it does easily and starkly let you see how QF have massacred earns with its 'partner' airlines  I guess that was part of the intended design.

Actually, on reflection I might lessen my enthusiasm until we see that ALL OW airlines, plus EK, with all its QFF earning destinations are loaded. If they aren't, then this turns into a set of blinkers as well as a calculator.

I am literally amazed. QF have actually enhanced (genuine meaning of word) their web site. This might make my spreadsheet pointless now :(.

They've fixed the economy on domestic routes thing. But still can't type and 'tab' to have cities completed.

Bit clumsy to use on an iPad. I just want to type an airport code and not have to navigate through the continents on the left-hand side, or have a default airport populated when I try to clear the input field. I think Aarhus is about to become my least favoured destination.

It's a good improvement though. 'Enhancement' is so overused these days.

Excellent tool. Well done QFF

On my ipad I am allowed to depart ADL but then I have to go to Alice Springs. Apparently. Only with much deleting am I allowed to go anywhere else.

I would prefer to go to Aarhus frankly :p

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Did we miss a memo? Checking an upcoming itinerary where I am flying LHR to HKG. The calculator lists the airline options as BA, CX and QF????

When did QF start flying this route again?? Mistake??

Crikey we AFF'ers are a picky lot!! Greart work Qantas at fixing what has been a bugbear for some time. Once this is bedded down to reflect all flights it will be great!! I was able to finally do my Per-Dxb-Dub all on EK so those flights are there!!

I also suspect if this tool was available when the 1st July FF changes were announced there would have been a lot less noise about the changes, as people would have understood the implications of the changes (good or bad) far easier than the original confusing tables!

But this is the big problem for me with QF in that they do everything half baked. Instead of releasing a fully functional site with all the changes and here again it appears that whilst this release is a big improvement, again it is only half finished with many routes and airlines not available.

I've just gone through the exercise of plugging in my upcoming DONE5 (booked under old rules) itinerary into the calculator.

I agree that it's very slick - well done QF :D! It will, of course, be even better when they include all the airlines - LA in particular for my itinerary.

Anyway, the upshot is that I would earn 1660 SC under old rules, compared with 1500 under the new. The new rules total agrees with what I had figured from the 'simpler and fairer' tables, so at least I had interpreted those correctly - a major achievement in its own right, methinks ;):p.

Points, which were an estimate off GCR distances under old rules, are pretty much line ball - maybe up to 1K fewer at around 90K total.

Ronrich, is it with an EK flight number of a QF flight number?
If EK, I cry for you, or for your lack of earn of SC.

No its a QF number.....and it was the same price as the EK. Others here have mentioned usually QF is dearer than EK flights...perhaps for PER and ADL they price match rather than gouge seeing how they don't fly from here.

Love the concept but why does it have to be so fiddly? Drop down menus for status and airlines would be easier as would a larger box for the originating city.

Oh, and San Juan isn't on the list of arrival cities but is on the list of departure cities. :?:
