New QF A380 reconfiguration!!!

Call me a cynic but I find it interesting that, yet again, ABT has a fairly extensive story that contains much of the information that was available here first. Innocent until proven guilty, however.

I was thinking the same. 'Leaked', lol. Was already out there.

There are indeed great problems with 3 pax walking through F

1. This is the thin end of the wedge. If we allow QF to parade 3 through, how long will it be before they are parading the whole of Y through?

2. When the great unwashed get a sniff of how their betters are looked after, there are certain to be riots in the aisles and soon there will be requirements for all pax to be treated equally.

Don't let them get away with it. Demand that they at least be blindfolded before walking through

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

164 posts... popular? infamous!

I was wondering why my QF107 on 18 Sep, booked as Y+ on an A380, was now a 747.
My most mourned loss will be the big toilet, which was brilliant for changing the baby's nappy with the least risk of getting baby poo on the facilities. Which, I must point out, is of advantage to the entire upper deck.
Realistically, will I change from QF to Emirates for my SYD-LHR flights? No, because I don't choose my airline, my employer does.
Which makes any complaint I have meaningless.
I bet Qantas Airways Limited know this very well.

Hmmm. As my flight to HKG has been reconfigured, I must say I'm not happy.

The F cabin has 14 seats. At this point, there are only 2 allocated seats in F. I'm sure upgrades will mean there are more pax, but given the ratio, 3 additional pax being walked through the cabin won't go unnoticed. The whole point of F is comfort and privacy. Both if these are being impacted. Perhaps the reason QF didn't want it leaked was they thought F pax wouldn't notice. Too late, I'm afraid.

That said, I think the Y pax should be more unhappy. They won't be able to settle in and unpack their belongings, and get marched around the aircraft like they're on a school excursion. Even with a pre-take off drink, you have to suffer the indignity of experiencing J and F briefly, before being marched back to their significantly inferior seats.

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.............. where on earth is Boss Reggie for this Row 48 debate!
knowing (and experiencing) the generosity of BossReggie, he would likely insist on sending 3 glasses of F bubbles to those row 48 pax waiting out the boarding process in the J lounge area. And he would likely also insist on saying passing them another 3 glasses as they headed for their seats when the doors closed. Boss may be an F-exclusive when it comes to purchasing tickets on his long-haul flights, but he one of the most generous and approachable people I have met when it comes to sharing. Y pax passing through the cabin would likely be a chance to mingle, chat and share, rather than an intrusion. The next 12 hours are for exclusivity.

And as someone more likely to be seated in row 48 than a row less than 5, I would greatly appreciate such generosity than stares of damnation suggested by some in this thread.

Wonder if they will walk them down the A side? That would be more noticeable than between the D and K aisles.

If QFi was nationalised, Julia will take 47.5% of what you get in F and redistribute that to those in Y.

The thing I find with the upstairs business lounge on this aircraft is that it's actually kind of small.

I've tried to visit there a couple of times now during a flight. Each time there has already been someone sitting there so I've turned around and gone back to my seat.

It sort of feels like you went and sat down with someone already there you'd be invading their space or forcing some sort of social interaction upon them.

I know this is strange given that you sit much closer to random pax in other parts of the aircraft, but that's just the vibe I've gotten each time I've tried to use the area.

I think the cause of this is the wall directly opposite (see below). If somehow it was able to not exist the space might seem more open & less like you're squeezing into someone's bunker or cubby house.

3 pax walking through F cabin, not an issue for me, bug each to their own.

I'll be focusing on my champagne and making myself comfy then worry about a bit of foot traffic - which is normal - hey it's called boarding for a reason.

The Business Lounge looks acceptable, well it is only for a short time after all, while I wait for ALL the other Riff Raff F/J/Y Paxs to take their seats. Then finishing my 3rd glass of Bubbles I majestically walk to my EXCLUSIVE 48B Seat and tell the flight Crew they can now take off.

Upon arrival, the flight Crew hold back everybody else, including the Fers, until I deplane.

QFA380 48B. Only way to fly. Thank you Qantas for making my WP Y flying interesting again.

Looks nice in the photo & I was keen as mustard to try it out however, it's a shoe box with a very depressing ambience. The lounges of old were way better.

Ah come on. It is not that bad for a glass of Champs or 3 while waiting for the other Paxs to take their seats.

But yes for a A380 J Lounge it is a Joke, an afterthought. Emirates A380 J Lounge is nice and has the Ms. RR Nod Of Approval.

With 48B being SO close to the F galley, bet a few glasses of pointy end Red make it into my glass.

Certainly needs some "Jazzing up" IMO - Perhaps some beautifying artwork - replicas or not.. Alternatively, a 'pin the tale on the donkey" game to amuse the punters

I have sat in that lounge a couple of times and had great chats with crew and other passengers. That said.....I aim to "occupy" the space and make it "mine"*. I am not sure how I'd go if I was second or third there.

And you may be right. I doesn't seem to be used much

*for a short time. I don't aim to hog it for the whole flight :)

Your kidding, aren't you?
Reduction in toilets is, to me, the most concerning, then possibly self service bars, reconfig PE/Y upstairs... possibly, but 3 Y folks walking twice through F?

I deal with high net worth clients at my work, and unfortunately, yes, it is that serious. Personally, I wouldn't quite care, but those who pay for F would.

And don't get me started on the rest of it...
