Well after flying exclusively QF since 1995 I'm afraid this will be it for me. I just don't see a future with QF product. They're trying to improve profit by offering less product.
DJ & SQ it is.
Very sad.
Wrong

To improve profit they have to have one first!!

Wow, 13 pages in 24 hrs! QF have made a lot of FFers really p***ed off.
Glad I cancelled my QF A380 to LHR this weekend and changed to Emirates.
Loads of toilets, a coughtail bar and a shower!

What a horrific layout - I was looking forward to flying F to L.A. in October, but now I need to reconsider. I would not enjoy sharing F facilities with Y passengers -- imagine if a young child was seated in 48!!

48 is an exit row, so young children wouldn't be there. row 49, on the other hand...
Well, young children or not, F pax will certainly enjoy having a few Y pax walking through the cabin...

Do I have to smile at them? (I remember their stares when deplaning at LHR through M2L - why they don't connect the third gate I'd love to know)

Anything that will increase their jealousy will be adequate.

Agreed with number of posts in 24 hours.
Must be at least 75% of the replies quote toilets or the lack of them.
The ABT article also prominently features toilet rationing and sharing.
Whatever the reasons financially for the redesign, it's a marketing nightmare.

And not one of them has been on the a/c yet so have no first hand experience of how bad it is, or how maybe not that different it is. But as usual many are threatening to take the bat and ball.

We are travelling on he A380 to LHR. But not till April next year, suppose that by then the number of aircraft reconfigured will have grown.
We are not travelling in Y so won't be able to comment

Maybe there's a pervasive sarcasm here that I'm not detecting (not picking on you specifically, ferdeline, plenty of people have expressed the sentiment, I just needed to quote someone for context) - but surely a maximum of four people (ie FA and up to three pax) walking quickly through the F cabin from front to rear in the late stages of boarding wouldn't be especially troublesome? The aisles in the F cabin are rather wide, they won't be carrying any hand luggage. If they even have time to look at the faces of the F pax I'd be surprised. I do agree the whole procedure is pretty messy but I think violation of the F cabin is the least troublesome thing about it.

Where does it say that F facilities will be shared with Y passengers? Do you mean the quick walk through at the start or throughout the entire flight?

My DH was booked on an A380 Lon-Syd PE in November

Just checked his flights and the leg Lon-Sin is still on an A380, however the Sin-Syd leg has been changed to a 747 and of course his selected seat has been changed as well (different configuration).

If I wasn't obsessively checking my prized July 38 PE seats before, I most certainly am now. So far so good. I'm two weeks out, I should be safe now shouldn't I! :(

So then if there is no bridge at 1L and First passengers have to depart through 2L - do they hold back the passengers in Row 48?

Given that to access the shower you would have to be travelling in F and the only change to F pax is potentially three people being led through the cabin I hope you didn't spend much on changing that flight.

So then if there is no bridge at 1L and First passengers have to depart through 2L - do they hold back the passengers in Row 48?

In the OP towards the bottom in bullet point 7 it states that they are going to hold the pax from row 49. So the first of the plane will be 3 whY pax then F and then the rest of whY. All looks a bit strange to me.

I think those Row 48 seats might just become the post prized Y seats on the plane!
