New Qantas promos including double status credits (book by 3/9/25; travel 4/9/25 until 22/8/26)

Is it just me or the number of posts during DSC week has gone down? Only 23 pages of posts? We usually get more posts isn’t it?
Yeah, there’s a distinct lack of the usual DSC banter and double entendres. I’m making an effort and I’m glad to see others joining in 😜

IMHO, Qantas really screwed this one up by saying at the start that the status credits earned from this promo wouldn't count towards lifetime status.
The way they ran this promo has made me less interested in chasing lifetime status than I was before. It's made me realise they're experimenting with changes that make it harder to reach. Also the backflip was welcome but was handled poorly, and a bit eye-opening that they can just change the promo T&Cs a few days into the booking period. They really should have extended it by a day or 2.

Yea…this is my understanding of what a PNR is ..
PNR is basically like an envelope that’s addressed to a passenger. You can put routes and dates into the envelope, you can add/remove/modify the routes and dates that you have already put it to the envelope.
@Ade, I hope that you're right: I plunged a few $k into a couple of "envelopes", hoping to "re-send" them to their correct destination soon. QF gave me the 4002 error multiple times (somehow, I was able to get a couple to go through) - every time I see that loading page with the dog, I now get anxiety.
Even better when you have a travel agent who knows how to put more then 1 ticket (for the same person) into a single PNR.
@Himeno, I thought about combining them but as it's my first time pre-emptively purchasing, I thought separating them might be best - I will just pay the extra change fee. I did enquire with a travel agent friend of mine but they couldn't get the same fares that were on the QF website.
The change fee is per booking, not flight sector.
@FlyingKangaroo - thank you for the confirmation. This will be a new experience for me in the (hopefully) near future.
WP + PC - just check but nada so they are obviously working through it in a random way...
@RSD, I can confirm that mine arrived on the 2nd.
Does anyone have experience with bookings made in the booking period but before clicking “register for double status credits” in the app?

No flame please - asking for a friend. 🤦‍♂️
@muppet, I had some issues last time where I booked flights once the sale was announced but before I received the e-mail. I was told that these wouldn't count. I then deleted those bookings and had to re-create them. I think that my situation was a little bit different to yours though.

I hummed and ha-ed but have booked a DRW-SYD-CGK-MEL-DRW all in flex Y next May (I was going anyway). 400 SC, comes out around $5/SC which from Darwin is not terrible value. Upgrades requested on all sectors

Probably LTSC debacle turned a few people off. One of my colleagues asked me what my thoughts on chasing LTG and I said don't chase it actively. If you get WP yearly then you'll naturally hit it. Don't pour more money in hopes of getting it as we've seen QF try to pull the rug from underneath us from this DSC promo.
I just hope QF has learnt its lesson and keeps DSC counting to lifetime status for at least a few more years or so. I’m too far along the way towards LTG to want to give up on that now, but I still want to get it using DSC travel that counts towards LTSC.

While I'm glad QF backtracked on DSC counting towards lifetime status, I can't help but feel this is a bit of a pyrrhic victory. It seems clear that they feel that lifetime status (presumably LTG) is too easy to obtain with the DSC offers. If they are 'locked in' to counting DSCs towards lifetime status in future given this backlash, will we start seeing fewer global offers and more targeted offers (perhaps for routes / destinations / flights with lower demand than anticipated), or a more punitive 'enhancement' of the QFF program than might otherwise have been to keep elite members within their target range?

Oooooooohhhhh. So that’s what it was about.

I still get enquires following my offer last DSC to explain to people what ‘fight club’ meant. Am I going to have to also explain what ‘going to the cinema’ means? 😫

If DSC continues I am on track to reach LTG with hopefully more than half of my flying ahead of me without ever getting anywhere close to P1.

I do think this is younger than QF would like but then I have given them extra $$ through status runs etc.

Once I reach LTG it will be hard to justify keeping WP each year without no realistic lifetime benefits left to aim for.

If QF does move the goalposts I may need to consider bringing forward some travel.

Perhaps add them to the glossary!

I do also think that it hasn't been long enough since the last promo for people to get too excited about this.

That said, I'm sure some people have found this promo useful.
The DSC arriving unexpectedly early was a bit of a downer for me but life goes on.

and whether the film was set in the outback or a foreign film or featured a double yoker or just red herrings.

I suspect it caught a few off guard - despite the question every other week “When’s the next DSC?” Followed by someone saying, “The day after I book QF1 First Class”…
