New Look QF FF Cards

The new cards look very ordinary.


Generally when attaining a new status level the cards/kit arrive within 10-14 days. When did the SC's/QFF points that got you Platinum post to your account?

I think that the WP Card looks great, not too sure about the rest. Then again, as has been discussed a million times over, they stay in your wallet (or forehead ) most of the time & it's not like were all having "card parties", lol. Or are we......

My WP "pack" took almost 3 weeks to arrive.

I'm still awaiting my new ones for simple re-qualification. My "year" ends in 10 days and in previous years my new pack would have arrived before mid-September.

So im guessing I wont get my WP card by next Saturday, i hit the sc's i needed last month but hadnt flown the 4 qantas flights until Tueaday this week.

Am I still going to be able to get into the F lounge when I fly to Sydney on Jetstar next Saturday out of the international terminal? do i just get them to look up FF# because from memory your status doesnt show up on Jetstar boarding passes

The new cards look very ordinary.

I'm not at all concerned with the appearance, it's what they do that counts.

Maybe they should shrink the cards in line with reducing benefits

If you have your old card, proving who you are, they can look it up and see what status you are I should think. You’ll just have to make sure the bouncer understands you do have access, and that Qantas have been a bit slow sending out your card

Take a printout of your current status from the QF web site. I have done that to get into the F lounge. It's not really an issue once you are inside and get to the desk as they will/can look it up. The printout is useful to get past the person at the front door.

Geee... that's a bit rich letting CL's enter the lounges anytime when they're not being loyal to QF..........

/OT Received a package from QFF today, had hoped it was a shiny new Q card, but sadly a paper version of the October statement saying that the cards would be sent out 'over the next few months'; so perhaps the early November timeframe is optimistic and NGCI at SYD will start with the PER guinea pigs while everyone else is phased in over a longer period?

Damn I always miss the biffo!!

I like the new cards, maybe we should have a comp for whoever gets one first?!

You should have to take a photo of it on top of your local paper for the date and upload it here Admin could donate a prize.... Gold AFF membership maybe!

Well I can't expect a new card until they roll out NGCI in SYD. I expect to get a DJ gold card sooner. One thing I do like about DJ is that the logos on the website change with status. A nice touch.

I like that fact that the Platinum card is not going to be dark brown anymore. Last year I was flying from Kuwait to London and was sent to the Gold lounge ( a shared one which OW uses). They scrutinised my card and said sorry, it has to be Gold or higher. I explained that Qantas thought that Platinum was brown, and they gave me a funny look.

So then I pointed out the OW Emerald logo, and that did not impress at first, but they made a couple of phone calls and I was cleared to enter.

I wonder what is going on with the cards. It seems a little remiss not to be ready after all of the announcements.

The current platinum cards do look a little drab and dowdy so hopefully the new ones will look a little more...well...platinum and shiny. (I'm nothing if not impressed by shiny things!)

Hopefully the scans and photos here have not done the card justice!!!

Slightly Off topic, however, yesterday I received my QP card after joining through 90th birthday promo last week. Card is of the 'standard' stock, i.e. not NGCI capable.

The letter I received with the pack stated that the QP card replaces my NB card. Can anyone confirm this is correct? The only reason is that the magnetic strip on the QP is only about 1/3 of the width of my NB card, and didn't know if this is an issue with terminals (restaurants, hotels etc.) Would seem silly to carry around 2 cards if 1 is made redundant

Can confirm the pack information is 100% correct, and you can place your NB card somewhere safe in case you don't renew QP membership in the future (you don't want to be charged for a replacement card unnecessarily).

As noted by me earlier in this thread, there's a lot of packs in the last few weeks being sent out with old cards. I suspect their production facility either isn't yet geared up for the new cards, or they are awaiting stocks of all new materials to arrive (bag tags, new marketing materials, brochures, etc) before starting to distribute NGCI cards.
