Good one. :)
Do the have CL Lounges in the International Airports (Sydney or Melbourne), or are they limited to Domestic only? (Not that it makes a difference to me)

AFAIK CLs are only at major domestic terminals, not international (not, of course, that I've ever entered one).

My understanding is just domestic (also canberra, brisbane, adelaide and perth)
Internationally just First Lounge access as per Platinum but some of the restrictions don't apply (eg. anytime access and i think they can check-in for jetstar at qantas desks).

Inside food selection is similar to business lounge, albeit less selection although has some pre-made sandwiches as well. Also has an open bar (like AA flagship lounges).

Desk attendants are very good about rebooking flights etc and will come and find you in the lounge with boarding pass etc. That said on my last visit was allocated the windowless window seat on a 767. :(

Some more info around on other threads - http://www.australianfrequentflyer....w-get-chairmans-lounge-membership-5131-4.html and a few on FT as well.

That's my understanding as well.

Couldn't find a bronze one. Maybe QF NB members aren't allowed to be happy?

Hope they arrive in the next 6 weeks, so I can take mine on my (belated) honeymoon! hehe :)

Well hopefully I'll get a new look Silver shortly, but from those small images I'm not a fan at this stage. Hopefully they look better in person.

I quite like the CX elite cards, and the current/old QF cards.

What? No new Lifetime Gold card? So I have to suffer the indignity of carrying an old style card for the rest of my life?

Awesome I hit WP yesterday for the first time, I hope I get one of these new looking cards!
As of last week, they're still sending old PS cards out to newly qualifying members.

Housemate received his yesterday new pack yesterday, having qualified at the start of this month. Also included old bagtags, and March 2010 issue benefits brochures with old qualifying levels.

Surely there's a Q-card for you ;)

Bugger! Though my email did say I'd get my card in 2011, I just hoped with today's trip and 2 in December through SYD, they'd include me in the next roll-out. :(

or the rest of the life of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.... ;)

...

CL get anytime access to Qantas lounges including First Class. Also, that can use StarClass Check-in desk for JQi flights, even when travelling in Jetflex/saver.

Oh, and there is no charge to pre-select exit row seating on Qantas economy bookings.

Will be interesting to see if a new bronze card is introduced. I recall reading (I think in the inflight mag) that bronze won't be getting Q Card functionability for NGCI, however, one could assume that Qantas would at least want to streamline the design of the card for all status levels; at least from now on.

Also noticed that replacement card fees are changing from 1 Dec 2010, from A$25 down to A$10. Not usual that fees actually fall!

So are they rolling out the cards anytime soon?

We qualified for WP 17 days ago and the new cards haven't arrived yet. Generally the letter & card is printed around 5 working days after qualification, and then another 2 days for postage.

Do they send a new card every year, or only when the design changes/new technology like this?

Sam, only when a) the deisgn is changed, or b)when your status changes. Kept the old Gold card for 4 years - now looks like I'll have 2 Platinum cards in about 2 years.

I'll be up for 3. WP in October last year, Q chip WP card from August and re-qual (before Feb next year). I missed (just) the last of the embossed cards, so I only have NB/QP/PS/SG embossed.

No, they don't send a new card each year. But given the new card-based check-in and RFID tags etc, I expect they will send out new cards and bag tags etc sometime.

The new cards look very ordinary.

Generally when attaining a new status level the cards/kit arrive within 10-14 days. When did the SC's/QFF points that got you Platinum post to your account?
