New flybuys log in system, now needs your mobile for 2fa

Is there any other 2FA method for Flybuys other than having to provide mobile phone number?

No.
For FB, its the mobile phone number, which is the only way.
But the odd thing is that its not all the time that it asks for it, when trying to log into account.
Sometimes when I use a device that I have used in the past, it asks for phone 2FA, ie, it has sent a 6 digit code to my mobile phone.
Sometimes it does not ask.
EDR is a bit better, in the sense that you can ask for the 6 digit to be sent to your email address.

Is anyone else having issues with the 2FA not sending out a text when you go to log in? Have never had to use it until a couple of days ago, always just logged me in without having to do it. Irritating as I’m wanting to switch to automatic transfer for the 15% bonus.

On the phone, I have had the 4 bouncing balls problem, (of having to wait a long time).
But as for 2fa sms not being received, no, never had to face that.

So you’re telling me that if you log out right now and then log in you will receive the text message with the 2FA code to enter?

Weird. I called yesterday morning and they said it’s a known issue. Still have the same issue.

I have not logged out of FB and logged back in (ie, not there and then, always every 2 days or so), but over lets say a week, and its the same laptop, if I log into FB, and nothing else has changed, FB's system views it as a new device, and says so, "it looks like you are logging in from a new device", and says, "please enter the 6 digit code that has been sent to your mobile device", and sure enough, my mobile will pling with the 6 digit code.
FB is being safe, better than being sorry and losing all my FB points/VFF points to some scammer somewhere.
QF/QFF/QFmoney on the newer smart phones, will now ask you to log in with your pointy finger on the sensor on the back of the phone.
Even WWR is now sending out 2fa 6 digit codes to mobiles now too.
Which is a good thing.
FB could go the pointy finger route of finger print scanning, but as of now, they are not doing it.

Still not fixed. Is it possible to disable 2FA? Would consider ringing and having them disable if possible.

I had a problem. my old phone number was in the flybuys system. so they sent a code to it. But to change my old phone number you need to re login and you guessed it the code goes to my old phone number. There is no other way for 2fa. Tried calling and they gave me a waiting time of hours. So eventually messaged them on facebook and was able eventually get a code via email to log in and change my phone number.
Of course they already had my email.

Yes, had this problem all day today, can’t log-in to either family account as SMS not being sent.

Still not working….

I rang again this morning. Irritation level amplified further. Suggested they switch off 2FA across the whole of flybuys until they are able to fix the issues. Of course this logical suggestion will be ignored. 🤬

It's definitely not a system wide issue. SMS are working for me. I just tested again. Maybe providing that feedback might help them get to the bottom of the problem.

They are aware that it’s not everyone with the issue. Judging by comments on facebook etc it’s a significant number of people affected though.

Wonder if it’s a particular network that won’t receive the texts? Which network provider are people on? For me: Telstra and not getting the text (obviously).
