New EK Premium Economy photos released

No shots of footrest/net
There appears to be a T-bar rest combined with a fold up from the front of the seat.

I doubt there's a net.

It's tough to judge until you're in the seat itself and we see the "soft product". Just by looking at the pictures, I have mixed opinions.

I'm not a fan of only having an 8 inch recline rather than 9-9.5 on QF as well as having 2-4-2 rather than 2-3-2. Yet I am a fan of having the IFE screen at the back of the seat, the fancy shades you'd see in business and first plus the seat pitch looks more than adequate compared to QF's 787 premium economy.

Wait - you like the passenger behind you hammering on the touch screen all flight?

Bit of a shame. The static photos made it look like the leg rest could have been horizontal... which would have been a game changer for sleeping/relaxing. But the video shows otherwise :( Would have been such a simple addition to make a huge difference.

Looks nice, though I'm not too sure about the paneling. I wonder how easily the seats will clean?

When I flew on QF PE to the USA last year, the couple in front slammed their seats to the recline stop, and left them there for the entire flight. In both directions. So, I don't mind the idea of reduced recline.....

Yeah, but that's a function of airlines being mean with their seat pitch :( Turkish Airlines had 45 inch pitch in their premium economy - no problems with recline! 38 inch pitch may be 'industry standard'... but Qantas charges roughly double the price of their competitors!

Will it be possible to seek an upgrade to premium economy on EK metal using QF points if you book via QF? Wishful thinking?

At the moment you can only use qantas points to upgrade on qantas aircraft. There’s some talk about Oneworld being able to share upgrade requests between carriers. Whether or not QF reaches an agreement with EK for something similar time will tell.

Has anyone found classic reward availability for sydney flights yet via QFF site?

Every time I see the photo of the “new” Emirates PremEcon my taste buds do a double back flip and I find myself desperately grasping for my Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses (apologies Douglas Adams). I wonder why. Bring your sleep mask. Don it prior to boarding.
