New Amex statement credits

Quite possibly if you've used an offer beforehand they don't offer again. Certainly happened to me on a Winedirect offer, when they reoffered I only got it on the card I didn't use it on last time. Smart marketing in my view, why would you offer a discount to someone you don't need to, that's just throwing money away.
Almost certainly this is the case. The latest Harvey Norman offer, for example, wasn't offered to those who used the previous offer.

everytime. $50x4 September, $100x6 (I think) Dec/Jan. was there an offer in between.?
Yes, there was an offer in June $350/50.

There is anecdotal evidence here and on OZB, and my own experience, to indicate those that used that offer last time, and the BP one for eg, were not offered the next time round. But it looks like some, like oz_mark, were.

Sorry JohnK - dunno why you're not being targetted.

Ah ok. Was overseas. Checked emails and I did save the offer though as it reminded me it was expiring, so was targeted after using the Dec/Jan offer,

Just a quick question, regarding to the new Hilton offer and the Hyatt offer,

Has anyone had experience to combine the offers with AMEX FHR and/or the Hotel Collection benefits?

1/ Can we get statement credit while enjoying the benefits when booking with FHR and the Hotel Collection?
2/ Will the hotel elite status benefits also get recognized when booking with FHR and the Hotel Collection?

Thanks a lot.
Just did my stay at conrad singapore and shangri-la hotels singapore. Here's what I found,
I needed 2 rooms at both hotels.

Conrad singapore I booked 1 room for 2 nights with hotel collections to get the bonus $75USD + 1 category upgrade, the $$ was a little cheaper compared to booking directly. Issue is the total amount was charged automatically at checkout or checkin (not sure but was marked as prepaid by the hotel systems) so I could only get 1 statement credit. Diamond status was recognised.
For the other room I booked directly with the hotel, managed to split payments to 2 cards by paying off $400 on the first night then the rest on the 2nd night.

Shangri-la Hotels
Booked 2 rooms with the 2 nights get 1 free FHR promotion, came to $2253AUD, was able to split to 4 cards at $500 each by paying off $500 per room on night 1 and night 2 at the front desk. At checkout used 5th card to pay the remainder which tipped us over to get a 5th cashback.

Only had Jade status with shangri-la, did get a room upgrade for both rooms but it was just a "view" upgrade which means nothing to me. Kids enjoyed the pool and their buffet breakfast was much better than conrad's.

Hi foggy, thanks for sharing the detail information. This seems the FHR is much more flexible than the hotel collection in terms of payments. Do you also get the USD100 bonus with FHR for your both rooms?

As for the upgrade at Shangri-la, would it be similar if you were having status that is equivalent to Hilton Diamond?

Really appreciate your sharing.

Yes, $100USD applies for each room well as other benefits, the 12pm noon check-in was one I found useful too.
I think you can only book a maximum of 3 FHR rooms per plat charge(that's what I've been told by my sister who tried booking us on a family trip). I don't know whether it only applies to hotels with the 3rd night free/4th night free or all of them.

I have no idea, I'm Jade via amex card only and haven't stayed in shangri-la at all previously (most of the time it's more $$ than the conrad/Hilton equivalent) but the amex deal made it very attractive. I'm just sad that the shangrila ends on the 31/12 unlike the Hilton.

Did I miss any announcement here? Do you mean that the Shangri-la Jade level via AMEX is ending this year?

If so, how likely is AMEX bring other hotel chain on board? Or just get the existing one extended?

Not to worry-its just the Shangri-la statement credit offer that's disappearing

Advised today at my local HN that they no longer sell vpays full stop because of people doing "dodgy stuff".

Weird.
