New Adelaide Qantas Club & Business Lounge

Market Stand.. let's them do almost anything.
Pie Floater
Lamb Cutlets
Vegetarian Paella
Well, let's see the best of SA on a plate then!

SA (or around the Adelaide region at least) has a reputation for some remarkable produce and southern European influence. I think they could be onto a winner if they just put some thought into it, especially if matched with wines.

Vegetarian paella?

Paella without rabbit is just... well, NOT paella.

I guess I said what I said because... well...

I'd be curious to see how the lounge will actually prepare the paella, viz. so it's just not another boring rice dish. And, of course, there's probably no getting away from the fact that paella served and then sitting there for a long time will start to become a pile of glop, harden up, or just taste a bit flat.

Vegetarians and vegans deserve to have good choices, but I wonder why it had to be paella.

I wonder if an idea would be to serve the vegetarian paella but have protein options on the side - prawns, chorizo, chicken, etc. (I doubt rabbit will ever make it on, despite being a sound idea). Problem for the meat eaters is that the stock used to make the paella will not have those protein flavours through it, so they may not enjoy it.

Invited to the launch today, the lounge is open to the public from 06:00 tomorrow.

Just saw the Points Hack au reel on instagram where Neil P makes comment re chorizo going into the paella so obviously not just limited to vegetarian

Ps no idea how / if I even can insert reel or link

So from some photos it could be a roasted vegetable paella served with saffron aioli.

I don't think it will stay true to what a paella is, but at least on paper there's no reason why it can't taste delicious. (I shouldn't complain too much, since I can't make a paella myself)

Some more photos and for any one has not worked it out @Buzzard are known to each other. The space, for those that are familiar with the old ADL lounge the J lounge is within the foot print of the old lounge. The entrance is now seperate from the QP and the loos that were once in the middle of the lounge are now for the J lounge pax. The bar has moved to the center and the area that was once nasty seating on the terminal side is now the food service area. IMO the space is actually quite good. The lamb was very good but I ate that before taking a photo.
