Not so much fun for everyone. About an hour of delays.

Wonder if the Q cards still worked at boarding and it was just printing of boarding passes that were stuffed?

System was down, what else could Q do but hand write boarding passes?, certainly not wait until its up again.

Online check-in is not affected. I'm guessing you can print boarding passes from home.

Seems to have been back up and running by 9am.

Interesting that OCLI and "Smartphone" check-in were unaffected.

Some updates from twitter:

Check-in system now operational, however expect delays in SYD, MEL & BNE. MEL also impacted by storms.

The earlier check-in system issue was fault with Amadeus system, affecting all airlines supplied by Amadeus globally

I was caught on this, however I had my BP so it was fairy painless for me.

My 7:30 flight left around 8:30 in the end however this was due to the airport shutting down three times during boarding so that added around 30-40 mins extra.

Mind you at the time I couldn't post on AFF as it was down too!

They said at MEL that they could check you in but not print BP's.

I did OLCI in last night but couldn't print boarding pass. In the Melbourne QP (Biz) they were able to print my BP at 10.00am. There was a massive queue in the main check in area. QF 428 was about an hour late leaving.

I was delayed by about an hour this morning at Melbourne. Anyone who had their mobile phone or Q card at my gate was required to be issued a manual boarding pass.

I originally wasn't able to use NGCI or a kiosk to check-in originally; went back to the kiosk about 5 minutes later (about 6.30am) and was able to get a BP printed, but I don't think many others were able to get one...

Here at sfo I wondered why so many flights are suddenly late / cancelled. Dozens. Mine only delayed 3 hours, so lucky I guess.

There was a problem with the printing side of Boarding Passes and also Bag Tags. Check-in as such was fine, just not the printing.

I'm gathering that it didn't affect NGCI bag tags?
I think it did too, i think the information wasn't being sent from the check-in system to the tags, just like the printing of items..

I'm hearing reports it's happening again, 1st time at 6am, 2nd time at 6pm.

On my flight CBR - BNE at 17:45, a number of us that obviously used the QCard check-in got a red light when trying to board our flight using the FF Card as boarding pass. There was an extra person on at the computer who had to manually key us into the computer into several different screens to state that we had boarded the aircraft. As PS I felt special standing with a number of WP's lol

I then received my printed receipt with my seat number, and boarded the plane. In the plane entrance there was a gentleman with a printed boarding pass and there was some issue. I showed the flight attendant my paper slip, and it turns out that the gentleman with the issue had used mobile check-in and had been printed out a slip with my name and seat number. So clearly lots of issues still.

Wonder if that means I'll get double the points as having boarded twice !!! (not likely!) :)
