NAB QF Rewards Signature card application questions

I actually found the NAB application process to be one of the more convoluted ones. I felt they asked for far more information than most banks, and the form is split over about 8 separate pages/sections which is annoying as you can't gauge how long it'll take until you actually do it.

The form also kept erroring out for me (there's a separate thread on this) so I ended up filling it out 3 times before it successfully submitted.
Agree - took me 3 times to complete before it went through correctly

NAB rejected me as well, first card i have ever been rejected for. Made no sense to me as I had previously had the ANZ Black Frequent Flyer card, I have The Amex Explorer, The Westpac Black Altitude, The Citibank Signature. I have all my cards paid off every month. I have a exellent credit rating according to the credit report i got done.. It was the strangest thing but i heard NAB are very finicky.

As well as i kept getting asked more and more things to fill out and more calls with questions etc, it was such a long drawn out process only to get rejected at the end. I was not happy with it.

In this market and if you’re holding 3 credit cards with Amex, Westpac & Citibank, I would of certainly been closing 2 of those accounts as others have said, they take into account the full limit so until the economies situation improves, I think it’s good to give your credit report a rest.

I had quite a deal of trouble too ... I only had 1 open card with a $1000 limit (plenty of recent applications and closures on the file). Strangely NAB were really hot on income verification - even though they could see the PAYE earnings rolling into the current account on the 15th of the month. Got there in the end.

Thing is

I applied for Amex when i already had Westpac, Citibank, Bankwest and 28 degrees. and i got approved straightaway. Then i applied for ANZ Black after i had those other 5 cards, and got approved straight away. I have since closed the 28 degrees and Anz as well as lowered my limits on the 3 cards i had left to thei rminimums and I still got rejected by NAB. this is while having a excellent credit report as well as always having paid off my credit cards in full.

I should also mention i got rejected by NAB a few months ago, before this covid stuff happened.

Mrs applied for this card. took two applications for it to get through - the first one gave an error at the final step. Gave it 24hrs and figured no email confirmation = no application made.

Made it again, this time went through. Annoying phone call to verbally confirm details that were in the application, but approved.

Relatively painless procedure, and this whilst holding another Signature level card from another bank, which was obtained only just recently.

Does anyone know roughly how long it takes NAB to approve or decline your application ?
It has been nearly a week for me, and no news of whether i got approved or not.

They were useless for me, Took overall like 2 weeks and i had to call them up / chase them on it at times. And then had to keep providing more info, only to then be rejected after more than 2 weeks.

If anyone's unsure how they'll fare, NAB have a free "credit health" service which shows your illion scores. Somehow my illion score is in the 400s whereas Experian and Equifax are in high 700s... Go figure

OH so that can be vastly different depending on the country? Maybe thats why all the other banks have no issues with me and NAD rejected me.

I aplied last week and was approved today. Earnings a little over 100k and with 5 other cards with a combined limit of 52k on the go.

My NAB health check score of 422 is only fair. For some reason despite churning NAB cards relentlessly (I had 3 bonus in one year before they had 12 months exclusion) for the past 5 years they keep approving me. I love NAB.

Thanks for all feedback ! Hmm,,,i will need to call them up if i don't hear from them by this week. Coming up to 2 weeks since i had applied for this card. (And my NAB Health Check score is 575)

Just under 48 hours - witin 12 hours of uploading payslips, although sms confirmation arrived day 3. Also I applied during Covid Lock-Down but had cancelled SGB Visa so only had a Mastercard and Amex open.

hahaha - the payslip upload process needs some tweaking!! took me forever as well

I applied for the Signature as an existing customer on Friday night, but was downgraded down to Platinum.
Emailed me on Monday asking for clarification of living expenses, sent a reply on Monday afternoon.
Approved Thursday morning.

I'm hoping that I'm still eligible for the 30,000 points that they are offering for the Platinum. Will check once I receive the card.

Applied Sunday, conditionally approved with email for payslips received Monday. Call on Tuesday from someone to verify my personal expenses and approval sms 10 minutes after call. Card supposedly in the mail.
Pretty painless. This is a card I churn repeatedly too...

Very quick process here as well but have never been a NAB customer. 2 day turn around from submission is pretty decent. have not churned cards before.

1. took less than 30mins to fill out online and load payslips/bank statement, then received immediate pre-approval.
2. Received a call the following day from the account manager as I forgot to declare a $500 overdraft that is on one of my savings accounts(that I never use anyway).
3. Only issue is I need to do the 100 point ID check and I'm in covid isolation for another 6 days so I told them I would come in when out. The online ID verification was not able to be used by that department
4. Card would have already been posted if I could have got in to the branch straight away.

When the card arrives, I'll cancel the backup woolworths credit card that i've had for years and hardly used
