NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card

The breakup call with nab for this card took over 30mins this time (20mins on hold). Is this peak cancellation period?

Mine didn't take that long, but they were really rather coughy about it. I suspect they are getting annoyed at the churn rates.
 
Only takes 2minutes to send a message through the online banking.

Hmm never knew you could and that was my 4th nab cancellation. Thanks for the tip. Will they still call and ask why you are cancelling ?

They never contacted me. Took about 3 or 4 days to get confirmation message back to say account had been closed.

Same for ANZ (and probably others)
 
I was amazed at the speed of this. Applied Saturday late morning and accepted Saturday evening!
 
They may not like churning but as long as the system rewards churning rather than loyalty it will continue to happen.
 
Well, quite. Is there an exclusion period with NAB?

Not as far as I can see, I'm on my 4th card and sign on bonus in approx 18 months.

There is now and exclusion period on the NAB Rewards Signature. I was almost ready to press the button on my 6th NAB bonus haul in the last 18 months when I decided to read the T&C's and a 12 months exclusion was in place for anyone who received a NAB bonus point haul in the last 12 months. This is only a very recent addition and I have no idea if it will be enforced.

Has anyone checked the T&C's lately for this one?

NAB has a specialist credit card retention team, they dont take the cancellation requests, but they will call back. But they would be playing by the numbers and it would be fairly easy to figure out who is not worth chasing,

To be eligible for the 50,000 bonus points offer, you must apply for a new NAB Qantas Rewards Premium Card by 3 September 2017, be approved, and spend $2,500 on everyday purchases within 60 days of opening your account. Everyday purchases exclude transactions NAB decides are wholly or partly for gambling or gaming purchases. NAB may vary or end this offer. Offer is not available when closing/transferring from another NAB credit card account or in conjunction with any other NAB offer. Points will be credited to your points balance within 3 months of meeting the spend criteria.

I was referring to the NAB Signature and Platinum Rewards cards which I have been churning regularly as I collect Velocity pts.

They have very recently added this:

"This Bonus Points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Rewards credit card or NAB Home loan in the twelve months prior to the opening of the NAB Rewards Platinum Card or NAB Rewards Classic Card account."

"This bonus points offer is not available to existing customers who have received or are entitled to receive NAB Rewards Bonus Points for a new personal NAB Rewards credit card or NAB Home loan in the twelve months prior to the opening of a NAB Rewards Signature Card account"

Might have to start milking the Qantas cow.
 
Closed Rewards PLAT card today...close to Annual Fee....very polite and professional operator......BUT no incentive to keep me Annual Fee Free....um might have had something to do with no use in last 6 months....ever hopeful a rewards offer worth taking up....but no ......
