I've skimmed through, but was there a resolution to the problem mentioned, what was SQ's official response?

The resolution is that they provided me with extra 5 kgs complementary in the trip back from Cairo!

No, but as pointed out previously, there only appears to be 2 of you.

I don't think SQ are particularly upset to have lost your custom.

With your counting ability; you should not think at all as there will be no out come to your thinking any way... and who gives a toss about whether SQ would be upset or not, they don't care, mate!
