Re: Must have missed notification QFF Point deval when upgrading booked discount far

It's why I've spent 40,000 points on domestic upgrades in the past month.. getting them done before the increase :)

Re: Must have missed notification QFF Point deval when upgrading booked discount far

Increase is 25% 8000 x 1,25 = 10,000 and 25% seems to be across the board.

Re: Must have missed notification QFF Point deval when upgrading booked discount far

This is just a a way of clawing back the easy points earnt from gift vouchers and double points from Qantas cash. They give with one hand and take away with the other. ..

Re: Must have missed notification QFF Point deval when upgrading booked discount far

Yes we all need to manage our Qantas points carefully.
So far only one of our friends has admitted losing 70,000 QFF points through inactivity.

Re: Must have missed notification QFF Point deval when upgrading booked discount far

Seems to be an increase in the cost of points for upgrading from discount economy tickets.

MEL - SYD up from 8000 to 10000. 20%

Stays the same for whY at 5000.

Zone 4 is up 6000 to 30000.

Cant see many upgrades being approved until Jan 14:(.

Frequent Flyer - Using Points - Flight Upgrades - Domestic Flight Upgrades

If you wanted to push the point it might be worth a call to Qantas to ask about this.

The terms and conditions state Qantas will give three months notice for material changes to the program (which are within their control).

This 'devaluation' was announced with only two months notice.

As I have absolutely no nexus to call (I have no domestic flights to upgrade) there was no real reason for me to follow through. And the company representative did not address the issue.

I believe there were potential grounds to have been a three month period.
