Hmm... not sure how I'll be able to work with this one.

I'm booked on MA in and out of SKP as part of a OneWorld award. No other OneWorld airline services SKP and there aren't even any options to neighbouring countries on BA that work on the days I'm travelling (or either side).

Any idea what Qantas will do? Even if I change destinations (which I don't want to do), the chances of getting J award seats (as booked) are slim. I'm guessing they aren't going to rebook on another non-OneWorld carrier.

Above it makes mention of booking on LH, etc. but not sure if it only applies if connecting to a QF service? Anyway, best bet is to just call and ask.

Thanks, was finally able To confirm on oneworld planner that ARN-LHR late night and LHR-BUD early morning is valid ( stupid iPad and not allowing flash.....)

Just await the travels agents confirmation.

A pity as I was invited to a very nice dinner in Stockholm.....

All rebooked ARN xLHR BUD (with o/n stay at Sofitel LHR)....oh well an extra 60 SC.......may requalify for WP in this one trip!!

Its a problem for the airline that issued the ticket. Contact them and as them how they are going to get you to your ticketed destination.

Not a good start... called and spoke to someone who seemed to be from the "non-premium" line. She said the flights are showing as operating but they're probably not :-| and she'd go ask someone what to do.

On hold for 5 minutes or so... someone answered from the "Premium" line with no idea who I was or what I wanted. She suggested that I hang up and just wait in the hope that this other person calls me back! I'll give them 10 minutes before trying again

Yes I found out from this website and hastily changed to exLHR on BA

BA seems to be the only option as Finnair code share most of their BUD flights with Malev!!!!

AY have a morning flight to BUD but only monday and thursday. An evening flight on Friday and sunday. One would hope they increase the frequency.MA operated the service the other days + some overlap.

Wizair, Austrian and Ukraine Air are picking up some of the slack if you are flying via their hub or the UK.

Wiz have the best connections to major European destinations

Sorry I was referring to OneWorld partners......I should have been more specific.....doing a DONE4 RTW

I heard through a friend who is a FA on Ryanair :)shock::shock::shock:) that they will be moving into the Malev terminal.

I just started a DONE6 ticketed by Malev in January with almost all flights open-dated.

Any idea whether they will still be able to book my flights until next January?

I've been on hold for hours now trying to get onto them. They're obviously swamped. Anyone here know?

I wish this happened when AN went belly up.A* might very well have got our business-
News - oneworld
With Malév suspending all services indefinitely earlier this month (for further details, click here), Finnair and Japan Airlines are inviting Duna Club members to switch frequent flyer programmes, and enjoy the same level of services and benefits within the oneworld programme to which they were entitled as Malév Duna Club members. So too is airberlin, which will join oneworld on 20 March

Wow, now I have paid flights 24/2 AMS-BUD(-AMS). Since they've ceased, will have to find an alternative and do a CC chargeback :(

Surprisingly, I have received QF frequent flyer points and status credits for the non-existent flight that I was suppose to take on 24/2/12. My girlfriend's points and sc's also posted. Our return legs BUD-AMS are still showing on QF Manage My Booking.

MA 669 DISCOUNT ECONOMY 24FEB12 AMSTERDAM/BUDAPEST 219 - - 219 15

I didn't know Malev had ceased operations until I got a call from Qantas yesterday. I had 3 Malev flights in my OW RTW trip in July 2012.
It's thrown my planning into disarray. I don't know why Qantas took so long to advise me. I get emails from them almost everyday but there is only good news in there. Looks like I'm going to have to drop one city from my trip as getting to & from there now involves overnight stops in other cities each way. I know it's not Qantas' fault but I would've liked more notice to work out a new itinerary.

Re: Malev Airlines grounded

I wonder if I can get another OneWorld airline to match my MA Gold in light of the news.......

Seems you can Flashware, on Air Berlin/Finnair/JAL.

Just out of curiousity, how hard was it to get/retain MA Gold?

This is a sad day for Hungary. All the more reason for them to give the EU the finger and pull out.

Air Berlin looks like the only feasible one. I'm not sure whether I will, as I don't really fly OW anymore and with the recent QF changes for BA lounge access, I may even skip flying QF on my trips back home to Australia too.

MA Gold was simple ; I implored their status match program.

I found out from this forum just as I was about to ticket.

You only have really 2 options.....as you say cancel some cities or go via LHR or HEL and stay overnight.

Most BA flights only go first thing and late in the day into Hungary.

I have to do this to get from Stockholm to Budapest.
