'QF seem to be constantly tinkering with their site and most of it is not for the better.' Perhaps they should revert to the old rule that if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
It's not about that though. The idea is conversions to sales and bigger basket. As for why they get rid of things, who knows.

I understand the bigger basket and share of wallet concept, IMO the constant changes to the QF site is not working.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

One employee supervising the work experience kids does not constitute an IT department.
The work experience kids often represent the total technical knowledge in modern IT departments.

These days graduates who come into IT departments are put in roles that are more like those of sales reps.

The technical stuff is done by 3rd party service providers whose main aim is to ensure any budget is wholly spent.

This is so off topic now but I just had to comment...

This is so true - on all counts.

Also on a related note true story I know of personally.. recently a task was required via an external organisation.. They brought in an integration manager to manage the process required. Turns out this was his first IT job after spending the past 10 years at a popular fast food chain... literally frying chickens in the kitchen.

Has anyone else noticed this little chestnut. I first glance I thought what was this all about and on clicking it the first sentence reads "As a Qantas Frequent Flyer member residing outside of Australia" Firstly I don't reside overseas and secondly I have points activity on a weekly basis so my points will not expire based on the QF.

Also has anyone else noticed that if updating bookings e.g. seating allocations and when going back to the main QF page you need to log back in. Maybe it just my account and only started today.

I had that re-log in cough like a month ago, was doing numerous searches to work around sudden travel restrictions. Very Annoying!!!*

* yes, they got some business instead as a result.

Yea- just saw that too and panicked a little at first. I had given them my NZ address for the past few years but just recently changed it back to my Australian one. Plus- I have account activity at least 2 or 3 times a week so this doesn't make sense at all.

Being silly buggers with me too - saying I'm overseas when I have a NSW address (AND I've had points being added each month).

Yes, I got this also but have just ignored it, although it does take up about 40% of the screen.
