Misleading Woolworth Premium Cookware campaign

Woolworths is currently running its Premium Cookware campaign, advertised to run until 7 July (or while stocks last). However, it appears that many stores have already run out of cookware stock and Woolworths has quietly stopped issuing new cookware credits before the advertised end of the campaign. This raises concerns that consumers may have been encouraged to spend more in order to earn cookware credits without a realistic opportunity to redeem them. Could this constitute misleading conduct under the Australian Consumer Law? If so, what is the best way to bring this matter to the ACCC's attention?

You would probably be better off raising a complaint with Wow and citing the ACCC or something, generally it would be flagged as Regulator threat or something and get reviewed by different people.

My digital receipts are still being allocated points but I’d imagine with this promo many people are likely getting to the free credits period right about now making a big rush, I’ve just now got enough for a free pot. You would assume they are likely holding out sending stores the rest of the stock until the back end perhaps?

no cookware credits were issued to my receipt today. it should be 14 credits. Not a big deal of course but i am curious why Wooly is still playing this game knowing that they may get to some serious trouble. I would think if they run out of stock, they should have an alternative way to compensate for the unused credits. They did say "while stock last" in the T&A but this will not protect them.

In terms of collecting credits it's a no because the credit earn period ended 23June.
In terms of redeeming credits it could be a yes if the customer has enough credits but WoW ran out of redemption stock, but you would have to show that the "While stocks last" was bait advertising. The best example is the stocks ran out early in the promotion period and the shop did not tell the customers .

I accumulated enough credits without actually aiming to get the PC
I didn't know about it until the checkout person told me about it when I used the old school checkout . If I used self checkout, I would not have known as I don't think SChkout even indicates the credits on the screen, and these days, the receipt is by default not printed but recorded in the WoW EdR app

So I got the Flat bottomed Wok which by definition is not a WoK and a frying pan.

T&C says that credit earning period is until 23 June. customers have until 7 July to claim their credits.
Yeah but if there are no more products left to redeem, your credits are toast. See my post above. Also the credit earning period is over.

Any stores still with stock?
My Metro took down their display on the 21st.

Think I've got about 60 credits. Wouldn't mind the small pan but they had disappeared very quickly.

That said thought it was a poorly run promotion.. bonus credits were mostly hidden in the app, and saw multiple stores still with phase 1 posters when it was well into phase 2 (brands totally different)

I think I got an official spam email saying that there is no more stock in metro area and maybe in regional areas they might have some

Is that even legal to run out of stock and say we're out without offering a refund or a rain check on the credits/cookware?

The promo was always “until stock is exhausted” which it now seemingly is.
