Minimum points transfer

Just a few points short on a qantas reward flight and tried to family transfer 3000 points from my daughter(that's all she has) but the minimum is 5000.
I was wondering if I could transfer to her 5000 points then transfer back to me the 8000 total (dont really want to buy any points either).
Anyone see any problems with this?
