Middle East Airspace Diversions/Cancellations

Nothing political, no reason for debate - it just feels like we've been fed this dish before.

While I think the damage - people choosing to avoid the ME - will take some time to repair, this current deal - based on the news reports I've read - should mean fewer cancellations of flights starting from now, and may give many the confidence to abandon their Plan B. It may even be enough for a travel warning downgrade from smart traveller but who knows.
I wonder though, how much of those cancellation right now is because their load factors are so poor that they're consolidating flights.

This is key - I think most Australians won't consider flying on the ME3 until our government removes the "do not travel" status from those countries
I wonder? plenty Aussies travel without insurance at all!

A couple of the big ME carriers are offering free transit insurance m, so that should resolve any issues in that front.
