Let me make a few comments:
Firstly, yes - a paid advertisement was distributed in the Frequent Flyer Gazette newsletter. The Gazette is a free service, and is funded by advertising, which appears in every edition. So, there is nothing unusual about this.
(In fact, you will find advertisements in all free newslettters, not just from The Australian Frequent Flyer. Sadly, there is "no such thing as a free lunch". Money is required to cover the various costs associated with preparing, editing and distributing the newsletter).
The advertised product meets our criteria in that it doesn't promote violence, hatred, racism. It doesn't give you cancer and is not bad for your health. Its also 100% legal. Some might find the product "dodgy". Well, thats their opinion - don't buy it. Others, no doubt, have purchased it and are presumeably happy with their purchase.
Finally, GOLD members of our discussion board never see any advertising on the Discussion Board. Period.
