I misread the terms first time round. Sounds like you can. Of-course you will miss out on the delicious cooked Malaysian meals served in the MH lounge.

The MH lounge is near gate 58, probably 15 minutes walk from QF as its in the other pier.

And it's always near where the MH aircraft is parked. You could start off in the QF lounge and then make your way to the MH one so you don't have too far to walk when the flight is called.

Take the lift (or stairs) down to the lower level for MH lounge.

I really like the regional lounge and I wouldn't hesitate to go there.

In preference to the business lounge in the Sattelite building?

I find the regional lounge a little boring but they do have 4 "normal" desktops and I usually get to have the business centre to myself except when the chefs come over and think it is their kitchen instead.

If the former they can't do much about it ... if the latter they may temporarily improve for the duration given the higher status access ...

Posting from the regional lounge currently.

In the interest of research I went over to the satellite. It hard to find the ViP lounge if you don't know its location as there are no specific signs to it, not even on the front door (although MH had a temporary sign and a couple of attendant right at the entrance).

Anyway it's about 15 metres past the entry to the CX lounge so the easiest way would be to follow the signs to that.

My best advice is when you reach the CX lounge - stop and go there instead - the VIP lounge is indeed cr@p!

There is some additional catering including hot food (a subset of that in the Regional lounge) but that's it - I saw no alcohol when I was there ~1:30pm.

The Regional lounge has a section set off for Enrich Platinum - I did not try it as I wanted a different type of seat.

I've booked a room for my long layover at the Sama Sama Express hotel within the airport, but will probably want to grab some food at some point from one of the lounges.

I really like the Regional Lounge but it will get crowded during this time with the renovations at the satellite terminal lounges. Early mornings should be fine though.

I was at the lounges today @ KUL. I didn't have much time, so I went to the regional lounge at first. This lounge is more than adequate. So would recommend this one. I didn't have much time so I had only 10 mins in this lounge. There was only 1 aerotrain operating as well. So next lounge was at the satellite terminal. I went to the CX lounge. Not a bad lounge but very limited food choices while I was there in the morning like 8am. But looks nice and neat. I didn't bother with the VIP lounge as it looked cough from the outside. I had a priority pass card which came with my amex plat (unlimited entries) so I tried out the plaza premium lounge. I only had 5 mins or so, so only grabbed a drink. Not a bad lounge.

KLIA is one of the few airports where I don't mind not having lounge access (and usually don't since $10 3K flights to SIN are a regular habit), if wanting to found a quiet place to eat cheaply is easily done, and at times the view can be interesting given KUL still has a 747SP and a TU204 providing services.

SGD $9.10 to be precise after price beat with tiger, using their Thursday sales, SIN KUL is very competitive, without pricebeat I pay under $50 AUD including plus pack.
