MH Flights and Status Credits with Qantas

MEL - KUL with an EK metal but with a QF flight number would have earnt max Y/J points.
If I needed to go to SIN/KUL via MEL, I would pick the EK metal rather than an MH metal, even though MH does fly from ADL - KUL, but earn rates are a pittance.
Plus MH metal will not ever carry a QF flight mumber.

I prefer the Qantas F lounge in Sydney. I wanted to fly on the MH A380, something that EK can't do. I wanted to get to Paris.

I'm not sure if it is obvious but a QF flight number is relatively unimportant when flying on a Oneworld Partner Airline. The unique features of the EK partnership, like needing a QF codeshare to earn to earn QFF points, are just that, unique to EK. Of course, I reckon there would be at least one QF codeshare flight operated by MH
