Hi, this is my first post so i hope someone may be able to answer a couple of questions for me. First of all I have a complementary lounge pass, but on my next trip i will not be travelling Qantas, is it correct that i can use the lounge even though i will be flying Thai? Also 2nd question is does anyone know how late the lounge is open to? It says till last flight, my Thai flight is 12.30am, does anyone think Qantas would still be open till about midnight? Thanks so much

G'day daneander, welcome to AFF.

I believe current passes have the rider that you need to be flying Qantas or Jetstar to use them.

If you can use it (which I doubt) the QP is generally open until QF29 to HKG boards before its scheduled "23:59" departure.

The terms and conditions are generally on the back of the pass. Did you receive this for qualifying as a QF silver member or through other means?

I did read the back and it did not have anything about travelling with Qantas. A friend had an extra card and gave it to me. If i can't use it this trip i will use it later in the year when i will be flying Qantas, and should be no problems. Just thought i might use it this time as will have a bit of a wait at airport.

Be sure to check the expiry date. These passes are generally valid for 12 months from issue.

How do you get guest passes? My partner has joined Qantas and Virgin Blue Clubs and didn't receive any?

Guest passes are normally handed out the first time you become a Silver member. I don't remember if I got one when I became Gold.

I didn't ask my friend how she got the pass, but i just assumed she got it something to do with AMX

You will not get one when you get Gold as you are then a Qantas Club member. You get one as a PS so you can enter the QC on one occassion.

Assuming you partner has joined the QP (AKA Qantas Club), then they do not need any guest passes. They simply need to show their Boarding Pass and QP card on entry and ONE guest may accompany them.

What is being referred to here in this thread as the QP invitation; which can be used:
  • for single entry for a non QP member OR
  • as a "guest card" to admit an additional guest for a QP member.
