I'm flying Jetstar to Bali on Friday.

I have 2x QF passes (thanks to Amplify card) and 2 passes on my new AMEX Explorer card.
Which is nicer? Which should I use?

I'm travelling to India in Oct 2018, and Vietnam in Dec but going SQ business so no drama there.

I'll presume you're departing from MEL and not SYD. I've not checked out the MEL Amex lounge yet and can only imagine it would be better than the QF J lounge. Therefore, if you have an opportunity before the QF passes expire to use at a different lounge, I'd go the Amex one. If whichever one you don't use is going to expire then you can always go to both :)

QF vouchers expire in May 2019. Amex about same time

I wonder which is the nicer lounge in MEL?

The Qantas lounge is pretty average (I'm being kind). Google reviews for the Amex lounge, but it sounds nicer.

Try the AMEX, it is new! :)

And the J QF lounge looks dingy as hell from the outside. Can't talk for the inside, however.

Keep in mind the QF passes can only be used when flying QF/JQ, whereas the Amex passes can be used with any airline.

So if your flights to India aren't on QF/JQ, I'd probably use your QF passes for the trip to Bali, and the Amex passes for the trip to India.
