I have a overnight flight connection coming up at MEL.
Arrive 2245
Depart 0725

They won't check through, so allowing for baggage collection and checking in the next morning, I'd have around 5 hours.
Would you get a hotel or stay at T2?

For your sanity, I'd say get a hotel room - Novotel, Holiday Inn, ibis budget, whatever. Not too far, of course. Probably will cost a fair chunk for a few hours sleep, but staying in the terminal is going to feel worse, unless you are a true night owl.

but staying in the terminal is going to feel worse, unless you are a true night owl.
It's a sunday night.
Getting up at 6am as normal for a sunday (get ready for work to leave for the bus by 740).
Get off work at 1730, go home, collect bags etc and head to the airport for the last flight to MEL of the day.
I normally stay up late on my days off.

I've overnighted at a number of airports before (LAX, JFK, SIN, DXB, DOH, IAH, PEK).
