So he has handpicked himself?

Rice balls? Rice crackers? I ask for pretzels or almonds or peanuts and it is full or rice crackers. How horrible. I know some people have issues eating peanuts but can't they refrain from asking for them instead of everything being replaced with tasteless rice crackers?

And I can't remember the last time I saw a normal pie in the Qantas lounges. Long time....

And thank god for that.

We agree on many things John but our food preferences could not be further apart ;)

And my complaint is that when I get a 'snack mix' it's 99% pretzels. I really don't like them that much; I get sick of them when I fly AA so much ;)

Give me a nice rice snack mix. I like my rice snacks. Considering they use flavourings on them, they are anything but tasteless (the green ones that are spicy are my favourite).

Is it that difficult to have each packaged separate or is this another of those things that has gone to lowest bidder?

I have had 'pretzel' snacks many times. Then, they moved to 'premium snack mix' which is 99% pretzels, and 1% 'other'. The 'other' is obviously more expensive than a pretzel though, but as they're not 100% pretzels, they do not call them that.

And it has the word 'premium' in it. Everyone in the LOTFAP loves something 'premium'.

And of course, in the USA, the F snack is a warm bowl of nuts. Go figure.

Probably comes down to coin more than allergies. A bag of Pretzels is no doubt cheaper than the equivalent sized snack bag of nuts, even peanuts.

It would be suicide to put peanuts there, so many have allergies (including me).

I am not tying to be nasty but where is the problem? You cant refrain from eating peanuts? Or are you worried about accidentally opening the packet and eating the peanuts?

I totally understand them not preparing meals with any traces of nuts in them but this is a sealed packet.

Is it OK for supermarkes to sell peanuts? I would hate to see that day.

Agree, the snack selection in QF lounges is often poor in range, taste and variety. There should be more choice particularly outside main meal hours or for people who do not want a "full" meal in the lounge.

I thought the discussion was referring to the bowls of rice crackers and mixed nuts, not nuts in packets.

A death would be bad publicity.

We somehow moved onto bags or packets.

A death would be bad publicity.
A death wouldn't be good at all but short of a total ban shouldnt the responsibility lie with the person with the allergy?

Again I am not trying to be nasty but people bring their own crisps, nuts etc onto the aircraft. I have done in the past and will continue to do so in future.

Sure but if you think like a company the risk would be unacceptable, pretzels never kill anyone.
