Nice thing about the change to the A380 was that I could book seats upstairs in the small economy section.

Does anyone with longer legs know if the bulkhead seats upstairs are ok or is it better to sit one row back. The flight I am on has only bulkhead seats upstairs in the side rows (2 seats) eg 32A and 32B.
The omes further back are in the centre section F&G
Have a look here:

You can but ask. As long as the flight has been ticketed, and they don't use your request as an excuse to cancel it, or charge a massive change fee.
They shouldn't, although most here need to deal through thir OTA and that can be poblematic.

I myself have had a 5:00pm work day departure moved to 3:20pm which is coming close to needing to take the day off (unpaid).

Orbitz appear to have confirmed acceptance of the change outright, but by the above policy I should be able to change to +/- 1 day. (This is from online, I have not contacted anyone)

Do any have experience on how to approach this?

Thanks for the above Serfty

Orbitz are still showing my original flights...will await their email re the 2 changes and call them after that.
Wonder if Orbitz would charge their 'change' fee for a secondary change after the QF change within the QF parameters outlined above (USD30 not a major issue after the price paid)

Also not the comment that you can rebook to QF codeshare on partner (eg AA) metal.

AA hadn't released there schedule yet but another option.

Particularly if you can get a MCE seat.

Sadly I'm booked for November so only a 20min change

Orbitz still showing my old flights.
QF not allowing me to select seats on my new ones (am happy with the QF12 return, just want to move one day for QF11)."Seat map unavailable"
Upper deck Y is available (on EF anyway),so would like to use my already spent $25 to select up there on QF12.....and try sort out QF11 once Orbitz know abut it

Orbitz are showing my new flight times but I see this:

faq.orbitz.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16352/kw/airline%20reschedule

I guess I will need to contact them if I wish to have further changes.

Serfty, I called QF direct (Orbitz still showing old flights), as I wanted to at least change my seats from QF17/18 744-friendly Y to QF11/12 388-friendly Y.

The gentleman (after checking, came back with the same details you did re flight changes 24 hrs either side of original) changed my QF11 'same day' to QF11 next day.

Also managed to change my seats, as expected.
He told me my original seat numbers "would hold" on the new booking.Explained I didn't wont those numbers on the 388.
He said Upper Deck Y was not available, and I mentioned I was seeing availability.
"Wait a sec,I'll refresh my screen,oh, yes - so there is".
Done and dusted.

There was no mention at all of having booked through a TA and having to make any changes to the flights through them....

booked mine through priceline.com
Wanted to changed to direct SFO flight. I just called them and they refused to change it. Have to go through travel agent :(

I have long legs and found the bulkhead mostly ok. A few more cms would have been nice but with no seat in front and the side bins, you cant go wrong.

Just had a look on the U.S. AA site. I can see the $560 return fares, but when I click on the fare, the flight suddenly becomes unavailable. It looks like they're taking these fares down as we speak.

Well that was short-lived!
