I have a 2 day trip to Perth planned for next week - flying over on Wednesday (QF597 arriving 6.15pm) and probably back on Friday 29th PM (awaiting JASA issue to be solved by QF IT).

I have one client meeting that I believe will need to be at night (friends from BNE who moved over to PER, she is a QF FA), so I am not sure whether they want to meet Wednesday or Thursday night. I rang them both today, she was onboard a flight about to leave so couldn't talk and he wasn't able to confirm on the spot. Hope to hear from them tonight via email.

I am looking at accom now, suspect that I'll be at either the HI or IC at Burswood Wednesday night and then either CP or Hilton for the Thursday night (or vv) - depends on rates. I'll report back where I stay, as this could have some bearing as to where we organise a dinner.

So, PER members, check your diaries.

Sounds good, I'm flexible, so whichever night works best should work out.

Depends on where, my vote is for one of the following.

Somewhere central is easiest, especially if straight after work, for me and presumably the greatest number of people, due to location and the availability of public transport and taxis.

If CBD I don't really mind but put my 2 bobs in for The Generous Squire
Leederville - JUS Burger + The Garden is not a bad combo
Maylands and Vic Park have Riffos, with more/better drinking in Vic Park than Maylands
If Burswood (due to OP's accommodation) then the Casino makes most sense?
The list goes on...
If people are up for Rockingham, then all the locations suggested by Reggie look good.

Okay, flight back is confirmed - Friday 29th April, QF594 PER/BNE at 4.45pm. Snagged an exit row (35J). If I have to go in Economy...

More importantly, hotels are:

Wednesday 27th - Hilton
Thursday 28th - Crowne Plaza

Clients live in North Perth, so at least they aren't out of the way for me on either night.

I'm happy with close to CBD as well, concensus rules. V1213, looks like you get your beer :D

Rockingham (aka Bogan Central) has public transport and taxi's, and is nice and central ......... for me:p

I knew Rockingham wasn'y going to happen, but was worth the try

I'm on call Thursday night, so if you all make dinner plans for Wednesday I will endeavour to make it there to meet you all. And if you make dinner plans for Thursday, please don't do a PFO (Pissed, fell over) and break something and end up visiting me at the hospital  I am looking forward to meeting you all but not that way, thanks!

Thank you Drmikki for PFO.
I was worried about CP but yes it is Crowne Plaza not Car Park. Accommodation in Perth is pretty tight!
Wednesday 27th is a good evening as we are in MEL on Thursday(leaving about 1pm from PER).

Hmmm, Thurs probably works better for me as i usually gym Wednesday nights till about 7.30pm, but i suppose i could be flexible if the group wants Wed night...

Wednesday would be better for me, but I need to check the calendar once I'm back home.

Hmmm, a mix of availability as is always the case.

Still waiting to hear from my clients, but will advise when they have locked in a night.

Booking accom in Perth a week out? Bound to be some unfriendly prices in amongst that!

Actually, no. Hilton was $299 Best Flex (less 20% disc is $239.20). CP was $238 for Easter package (prepaid). Quite surprised, was expecting to have to invoke the F&F rates just to cut down on price.

Sounds good :)

I'll monitor this and see what day gets picked. (Unless it has already and my scanning of the thread missed it.)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The good ol' Entertainment Book has a few CBD options. Being a tight wad I know but I thought I'd throw it out there.

No preference on Wed or Thurs.

went to the last m.a.m. in MEL with Lindsay, can reccomend :)
unfortunately i'll be in drw-asp-adl on the Ghan those dates, so no can do #2 in PER.
Enjoy!:D

11sjw, I can fully understand, given I'm funding a 7 week trip to England/Europe in 5 weeks. I used to have Entertainment Card, so remember some good deals.

I have 2 Hyatt cards so we could comp the moderator and one other at the Hyatt Cafe which is the best smorgasbord in Perth.
They allow multiple cards so if others have a card or cards it becomes very good value.
