Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Sounds good.

I don't really remember King Street but I hope it is a safe walk from George St....

Couldn't be safer. King St intersects George St where the Apple store is. Just head straight down there and when you get to the wharf with all the restaurants and bars, turn right. It is along there.

Edit: Actually, Erskine St is probably closer especially for those coming via Wynyard. Same deal - walk down the road towards the water. When you get to the wharf, turn right.

Hi Everyone,

Just found the thread, would love to be there and will try, but don't like my chances considering I will be building sections of our new house on Saturday and running cabling on Sunday..

Current house is about 50 mins from the city, but will message on here when I know what's happening.

Thanks For the reminder about this cove

Murphy's law has struck again...
I finally get a chance to meet AFFers irl, and little Miss 10% Int'l Fare brings home some kind of virus from playgroup.
I now have laryngitis and if I came along, I would be seen, but definitely not heard.
Which would to a large extent defeat the purpose of meeting serfty, JohnK and others on whose online advice I have relied this year.

So with apologies, I will be a no show this time, but I'll post my questions later online, and try to make the next SYD gathering (Velocity status match for gold came through, so maybe a VA lounge meet?)

Cheers

'Tork

Serfty I am on the Parramatta to SYD train tonight at 11pm and it is a little bit 3rd world.
I didn't realize that English is not the main language used on Friday evening trains!
Maybe English is used Saturday nights for you.

How did you get out of Para intact?

I slipped out under cover of the Parramatta Westfield fire alarm whooping so everyone went over the road hoping to see a wild fire.

Maybe I'll use sign language. :p

My trip should be a little shorter ...

Dear serfty and all ,
I hope you have a great evening. Please accept my apologies for being unable to attend tonight. John.

Looking forward to it. On my way now to get on the 5:10pm 423 bus into town.

English is hardly used in Brisbane either which I find extremely disturbing. Even worse though is the free for all that goes on in an office of an Australian company in Australia.

I'm going to head in shortly and maybe grab an early beverage.

I've met just about everyone who's attending. I'm wearing a light blue polo and dark jeans for anyone who hasn't met me yet.

Look forward to seeing you all again!

Going to head out shortly as well. Tossing up between bus and train... Oh how I hate Sydney public transport.

Correction. Turn left at the wharf from Erskine St - it is the first venue there and directly opposite pier #4

I'm now on way. I reckon 20 mins walk from rydges assuming I sort my bearings out

I'm headed in now by car as I have been visiting on north shore. May be a few minutes late as I have to find somewhere to leave car possibly overnight.
I am assuming byo is not on but if it is let me know as I have some wine in car.
