Just curious, as I am sure someone out there has done the math previously, what is the maximum amount of QFF points and/or SC's that can be earnt on a AONE6 fare ex SYD.

Reason I ask is my boss raised the idea of paying for a F class fare late next year in J/F SYD-LAX and the direct fares from QF came back at $14k & $19k respectively. Obviously on the DONEX or AONEX fare there will be quite a few fuel fines and taxes added, but still the price would be very similar, if not better.

Anyways, just curious...

thx in advance

Put your intineray in Mileage Monkey AONE6 is not good value. Limited to 16 segments just like AONE5 and AONE4. F is only available a limited number of routes (as MM indicates). A is not offerred or available on every flight with F. Getting an A seat in the F cabin can be difficult at times and then you may have trouble if you want to change the date of travel.

But still xONEx better SC & miles per $ compared to a basic return. Circle Pacific worth looking at SYD-LAX-HKG-SYD for example

Thanks for that, I had a quick look on FT ealier and didnt find that thread.

I guess what I am trying to establish is combining a ticket that gets you to required places, but at the same time earns a bundle of points and SC's, obviously a lot of time will be wasted flying to places that maybe arent on the required itenerary, but hey, thats what going on an adventure is all about. From what I have read so far the DONE4 or AONE4 would probably be more efficient, especially with the DONEX fare getting A class SC;s & points in the U.S. where applicable.

I booked an AONE5 like this
JNB-HKG-SIN-NRT-SIN-SYD-AKL-SYD-JFK-DFW-BOS-MIA-SFO-LHR-MCT-LHR-JNB
Of course if you were ex SYD you would have to substitute MEL for one of the SYD's due to return home rule. Depending on season place like ANC make good earning flights.
2730 SC & 56,000+ miles :)
A xONE6 would be even more.

If you give us the cities and dates we could have a quick go at figuring something out... i am doing my own next trip planned (before my current has finished) so happy to have a look.

Remember with AONEx you wont find F(A) on all that many flights, but a DONEx you will almost always find a business cabin on most flights and still booking into F on USA 2 class services so earn F SC's :)

After reading the FT thread i think the contributors have really tried hard to find the most miles/SC possible ! and reminded me of the Europe direct to Australia and back to Asia routeing possible on a xONE4, for some reason i thought that had gone.

In your case you alrrad have a list of places you want to visit so saying that you should make sure you visit places you want to visit and not just fly for miles is not so relevent. And the other thing i was going to mention was the LHR-MCT-LHR type routeings add significantly the +++ with taxes from premium cabin charges etc.
