I booked a MEL-BNE- MEL mASA in J via the contact centre procedure that gas worked without issue a number if times. But this time the Operator had quite some difficulty believing me that I'm still allowed to book these... 25 minutes of on-hold music later the Operator comes back to confirm its all booked. The emailed itinerary arrived and showed U class which I understand to be the right one.

But have just seen the flight credit into my account as a Classic Award and nil SCs...

With the announced changes does this mean the correct SCs will post in a few days? Or do I need to ring and start the "conversation" about crediting them correctly? (My anniversary date is 31 May so figure best to sort this before that day rolls over)

Thanks in advance

I would be in touch with QF asap. Better to have it sorted rather than dragging it out.

DMMatlin, not being an expert on these things, perhaps looking at the points deducted would indicate if you were booked into an ASA or Classic Award. The mASA booking should be either (1) at classic points but with a higher $$ co-payment; or (2) at much higher points and no co-payment. If it is at classic points with a low $$ co-payment, then you might have been booked into a Classic Award (hence no points or SC).

As above, look at the points deduction on your online activity statement.
It should say
09 APR 14 QANTAS & JETSTAR ANY SEAT AWARD 1 ADT REF XDFQQZ--- -32,0000
If it doesn't say this the initial booking was not a JASA and the operator has booked a classic award.

FWIW I have had a booking with the correct deduction post incorrectly as a Classic Award. A telephone call to QFF and it was fixed promptly.

"Crisis" averted ;-)

A 1 minute call to the QFF Contact Centre and flight adjusted to credit as ASA... Status credits posted in time to retain my "last" mASA acquired level.

I dont know if its coincidence or not.. but post-enhancements the 3x mASAs I have called up to book have been greeted with "Oh you can't book these anymore". One even after going through it all booked it as a Classic Award and I had to go back over it and get them to fix it. Definitely feels like more of a struggle to get it across the line...

My experience has been exactly the opposite. I got one person who did not know how to do it and was immediately transferred to someone who did.
