I said last year at this time, I would not do another Europe trip in summer.

And yet here we are, on our way to Greece, sigh. Next Sunday to Milan and then going north to the Dolomites. Hope it's cooler there.

Staying with a friend that works for the AIS in Gavirate, north of Milan for a few days, hope his appartment has aircon. :)
My 23 year old niece (the graduate) is backpacking around Europe with her mates, daily photos in bikinis of sailing the Mediterranean, lazing on crowded beaches, cliff jumping 🤦‍♀️ @Cossie
Am surmising, no air con in their digs - guess we are just gettin' old 😀

We're currently in the Dolomites (Dobbiaco this week, Cortina next week) - warm (30C) during the day but 15C overnight - very pleasant - occasional late afternoon thunder showers. (We were in Sicily last week - cooler than most of Europe).
Sounds uncomfortable. 30 is prohibitively hot for me if I’m walking. After an endurance event in the Spanish mountains during a heatwave last July, I decided to visit the Dolomiti for walking in September this year instead of their summer. Fingers crossed it’s a bit cooler.

Started filling out a Thailand arrival form on a bogus site. I’ve done one ( the real one) only a couple of weeks ago and my God this one looked very very real. Even the drop-down menus for countries exactly the same format.

Only twigged when I got to the second page when I knew it looked different.

Prepaying for a rental car - The rate was VERY good so was happy to prepay for the extra 10ish % discount

Me, being me, checks the rate every few days, and it had dropped by about 20%

With the cancel fee it would work out about the same

Oh well :(

I always start here.

Unless I’ve already book marked the official site.
