Far out, I’ve done it again. In the uber to HBA for trip to YUL this morning at 0445 I realised I’d left my coat at home…it’s sub 10C in Montreal….idiot…

Not really a mistake but my AC flight went technical so I’ve had 12 hrs in LAX with an exciting ORD—YUL trip to come…

My latest mistake.
Im a once/twice a year traveller. Rarely buy duty free at airports.

Was at changi, transit flight was 810pm, ticket said boarding 730pm

Left lounge at about 730pm, didnt realise gate was a good 10 mins walk

Walked past duty free store, saw a bottle of alcohol on sale, purchased it, took about 5-10mins. Didnt know they send the stuff to the gate, As I left store, announcement calling my name to hurry up.

Hurry to gate, get a call on my phone from staff as I arrive at gate.

Tell them I have duty free to collect, get told nothing has arrived and were closing gates now.

Definitely lesson learnt, even the flight attendant said she had never seen anyone not get their duty free due to not arriving

Currently on QF112 AKL to PER. Had previously gotten off MIA to JFK on AA then transited JFK to AKL on QF4. After those two flights especially after the 16 hr from
JFK I was feeling quite exhausted. And now I just realised I left my M5 iPad 13 with pencil pro in the seat pocket in front on QF4. I was in full zombie mode. I have find my iPad turned on and I can see it at AKL Int. Oops!!

Staff just said go see baggage services in PER and they will reach out to AKL baggage service and get it sent over. Hears hoping….it’s only 3 months old. Sigh…..

They prolly shouldn’t have sold it to you IIRC the cut off for liquid duty free at SIN is 60 mins? (maybe longer now?)

That was my recollection too. Wasn’t allowed to purchase within an hour of ?dept time

Sia have been kindly following it up for me, but the charge on the credit card looks like its gone, so maybe a refund is on its way!

We booked a long cut to get London as we went Perth-Sydney-Singapore-London to try out the Sydney Singapore lounge and go first class from Sydney. We won’t bother doing that again even though it was Krug and caviar on both SQ flights.

I know what I would choose if between a hard express train seat to western Sydney and SQ First.

Yes years have gone by since my first post in this thread. We are still working as consultants to the business we sold and that keeps our Chubb travel insurance running for the whole family.
Krug champagne, caviar with icy vodka does make this long cut very pleasant.

I told you that Per-Sin J followed by Sin -Lhr F made more sense. Sq F lounge in Syd is not that great and you will get all the bells and whistles on the Sin-Lhr leg anyway

If I can be of any help, will have sometime in AKL, the airport, not the city itself, tomorrow (Monday 11th) and have room to bring it back as HLO to Sydney. But then getting it to PER is the issue.

What time do you arrive in Syd ?

I’m flying to Adelaide Monday night 9pm. Could in theory carry it onward … yet still not Perth
