Hi Everyone,
I just keep being impressed by Luxury Escapes.
We had bought one Luxury Escape at Five star hotel in Cannes for early next month, and it was an astounding deal - I was paying 134 Euros a night with a lot of extras thrown in (coughtails, trip to an island etc) where, as best I could gather, regular guests were paying 499 Euros a night. It was such a good deal that the hotel tried to get out of it by contacting me directly via email, telling me they were booked out. I then contacted Luxury Escapes, who instantly got the matter rectified.
Anyhow, due to our back surgeries some months back and not having recovered sufficiently, we had to cancel this year's trip to Europe. So I contacted Luxury Escapes to ask if I could get any sort of refund. I had to ask this for travel insurance purposes, even though the contract made it unambiguously clear that no refunds were payable.
Today, Luxury Escapes contacted me to advise that no refunds were applicable, but that as a one-off gesture of good will, I could have either a voucher equal to what I had paid, or a refund of 80% of the cash amount (they keep a 20% Admin fee).
I was amazed. Are there any other companies this considerate in Australia?
Regards,
Renato
P.S. I just remembered, as result of my back disaster, I couldn't go to our Luxury Escape in Bali back in April. The conditions didn't look all that promising about changing dates - it was subject to the hotel's discretion. I asked Luxury Escapes to seek the change, and the hotel agreed to change dates to later this year - without any penalty.
