Wow, I've got an invite. Just sorting out the few days off I'll need and accommodation, wondering if Red Roo can be contacted via email at all (as the pesky PM limit means I can't contact him/her)?

Send the PM to mods and they will be able to forward it for you.

I am rather excited.. I've been accepted to attend also. Looking forward to meeting Lesley Grant and the Team, and meeting more AFF'ers also.

I did receive your PM, and have replied too. :)

I am not going but am assuming I was definitely going to be invited. LOL. However, I sent Red Roo a pm this morning, withdrawing as I broke a chip off my elbow bone yesterday in a crash and now am having an operation to put it back on Tuesday avo.

With read the responses with interest!

All the best for all the attendees. Make the best of it.

I'd hazard a guess that the access to information on MASA's and before them, JASA's, contributed to the downfall of them. If the community hadn't been so willing to share how to do it with every person that joined, they might still be overlooked and available, but that's the case with anything. When you know about a good thing, you want to share, and it's a great community for sharing information like that.
Actually I 100% believe this to be incorrect.

Online MASA's went the way of the dodo with the implementation of the new you beaut one size fits all online booking engine.

Previously, the system had at least five separate engines- revenue one-way and return, revenue multi-segment, classic award, classic multi segment and any-seat.

I believe firmly that the facet MASA's could be used to garner status credit relatively cheaply was a lucky accident of the "law of unintended consequences" when they decide to encourage use of any-seat by allowing points/SC' earning.

Anyway, back in 2012 or earlier Qantas decided to have the one single basic booking engines and redefine what they meant by an ASA by revising points plus pay and calling it "any seat".

That is the demise of the online mASA would have happened in any case.

There has been a bit of confusion.

I hope it gets sorted....

Yee har. I have been invited. So excited
