Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I need to make Platinum in this new year by June and pick up Lifetime Gold before becoming Mr Classic is what I have concluded from 42 pages.

My strategy in one short sentence. And it's all booked. :) Using the last JASA I booked in the hours before their extinction and some nice first class fares in the US.

TSV-DRW Classic 60000, MASA 24000 plus cost of points rewarded which is a lot (3910 for a WP)
ADL-TSV Clasisc 48000, MASA 24000 plus points earned
CBR-HBA Classic 24000, MASA 16000 plus points earned....
AKL-xBNE/SYD/MEL-LAX Classic 112000, MASA 84000 plus up to 22000 points earned (SYD, WP).

Went to Adelaide Oval for the AFL today. Saw three Jet* jets overhead and not one Q flight. Hope it doesn't go that way. VA here we come.

Would they? Seems a big assumption to me.
Apologies I didn't follow every thread but wasn't there a huge uproar last year around April-June when Any Seat awards went offline and the cash component increased?

I didn't wait for LTG ;) But since I'm here - the plan still works....

The next step is to secure OWE on BA or Aany other airline and continue flogging the CC/ATO for the classics.

One thing that I found interesting was Lesley's seemingly genuine surprise at a fairly consistent theme of people not wanting to fly Jetstar when a Qantas flight option was not available. I wasn't quick enough to think to ask Lesley when she last flew Jetstar herself for business purposes and how she found the experience.

I suspect if Lesley flew Jetstar she wouldn't find it quite the same experience the rest of us do - they'd probably look after her a bit more carefully than the average platinum punter.

Agreed.

If MASAs are loss making for them, compared to classics, they only have themselves to blame as it is QF, in its wisdom, who set the figures for the add on bundle.

So, so true - although not everyone sees it like that

I don't think its the MASA's and their impact on QF per se that are disliked, its the perceived impact upon their own status privileges by those who've gained equivalent or higher though MASA's.

(BTW the above does not apply to me, despite me never having used a MASA)

You guys are taking the piss. That is an awfully cheap way to travel in premium cabins? I can see why Qantas has the loads but no income.

Glad they have been removed.

Your nuanced take on MASAs is surely known to all by now.

I really hope they get rid of those 140,000pt OneWorld awards. Just look at them! Anyone can see they're a rort.

Or else it would be similar to poor Penny working in Y on Great British Air

Not the end of the world. How many Woolworths vouchers can I get for ~1.2 million points?

I think this thread has run its course, given it was about those attending the lunch with Lesley (who, when flying, meeting up beforehand, the lunch and questions about the lunch). The ongoing discussion is more robust here:

and ill achieve exactly that before June 30 2014 :)
