Lounge Pass Suspensions???

Hi All

Attempting to link the complementary lounge passes for an upcoming flight next week and it is noting "Not Available" within the app.

Spoke with Qantas customer care on the phone and they said it is due to lounge suspension because of school holidays ???? WTF which came into effect from 2nd July to 20th July. I never received an email regarding this or any alert seems pretty odd.

Has anyone else had this occur before? As I flew out same time last year and was able to use the passes with no problem.

Is there any work around?

Can be frustrating to not be able to use when you want to travel.
 
What a joke, once or twice a year international flyer and opted to go with Qantas for an upcoming trip.

I should've flown Singapore Airlines, and to add extra insult the customer service person hang up on me mid phone call as she said I wasn't a Qantas member then said I am a Qantas member and then she ended the call
 
First time flying Y in about 10 years, SYD-LAX mid-December with family and unable to link the Lounge passes (guess school hols + SYD J lounge refurb).
The kids are going to have a coronary, fly economy AND no lounge lol...

Have you tried to link it now while the blackout is on? Try again in a few weeks after the current school holidays. You might have better luck.

I have been able to link passes for December many months out.

@PepsiMax - if you haven't already done so, maybe try posting in the July 2025 Lounge Meetups thread. You might get lucky with another AFF member (travelling at a similar time) being able to guest you into the lounge.

 
So flying out of Singapore thought I would try to use my passes as a one off to see if they would work for the Qantas Lounge in SIN before they expire.

Success they linked correctly last night and got the confirmation email after entering my flight details.

Wowzers get to the airport and what do you know the lounge is closed until the time that I've been in the air for about 4 hours.

What a joke seriously surely Qantas would have some pretty smart UX CX employees but they still can't figure out the flight details that I have loaded in and just say a brief message of

"Hello thank you for wanting to use Qantas business lounge, checking the flight details you have entered unfortunately the lounge is closed during this time, would you still like to proceed with booking the lounge?"

Upon deeper googling then found the weird operating times of the lounge but seriously what everyday average Joe traveller would think that a lounge at a large scale international airport would have airport lounges that operate at the most odd business hours??

Every step of the way Qantas seems to drop the ball on the most basic customer service aspects

I want my passes credited back to me along with 100k points for the massive inconvenience, as now I have a partner who I said last night we are in, she was super excited especially after missing out on the lounge leaving Sydney, we woke up earlier to make use of the lounge instead of going to a near by fantastic hawker market for breakfast and now she is pissed off at the airport as we have no lounge access

I'm not super familiar with the process for activating passes, but it sounds like you might have picked Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) by mistake?

I activated them for Singapore airport and told on arrival by the staff it was closed.

Should've written SIN but was used to the SGD for the AUD conversions
 
What flight were you on? Sounds incredibly bizarre for the QF lounge to be closed before a QF flight.

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays: 1:50 PM to Midnight

Tuesday and Sunday: 7:40 AM to 10:00 AM | 1:50 PM to Midnight

Thursdays: 7:40 AM to Midnight

We know the opening hours which align with all Qantas departures from Changi, hence the confusion over why it wasn't open if you succesfully linked it to a QF flight. If it was a Jetstar flight then this would all make a little more sense.
