I think you are thinking of the Grand Chancellor ex Sheraton, as far as Hobart goes for Accor it's a Mecure town.

Avoid the Mecure.

Depending on numbers go for the GC.

There are boutique places there, so local advice woud be important.

I prefer the Oaks on the pier (now Somerset on the Pier), it's the best of an average bunch.

Of the two hotels, Bathurst St. Poor location and run down IMHO.

Hadleys is getting a facelift and the rooms were variable standard when my client stayed there.

The apartments, not sure.

Agree I do like the pier. If you snap it up at a good rate that will be a reasonable choice IMHO.

At Ozfest 5 in 2008, most of us stayed here in Hobart: The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel, Quality Accommodation in Hobart, Tasmania
Nothing fancy, reasonable rates, good location, internet is $5 per 24 hours etc. However, unless they have not loaded the rates yet, and all I'm seeing are the rack rates, rooms seem to have gone up a bit!
