Having voted for Hobart for AFF #6, I'm not sure how I missed 8 pages of voting for AFF #7, but there you go. I'm somewhat pleasantly surprised that I might finally be able to make an AFF gathering as it looks like I'm stuck in Hobart another year, although it will depend on dates of course.
Looking forward to that poll opening up, mid-October or mid-late November is what I'm hoping to see! If any hands are needed, I might even be able to help out, although it's way too far to tell.
As a student in Hobart, I've only had a couple of hotel stays, mostly at Hadley's Hotel (formerly the Grand Mercure, now just a Mercure), I know you can frequently get cheap Wotif rates at that and the other Mercure Hobart. The new apartment section is not too bad; although space is somewhat limited, there's definitely a new hotel feeling in that section, while the hotel side feels a bit decrepit. Furniture is old nice, but the tv is old bad - very bad.
Henry Jones Art Hotel is meant to be quite nice I hear! Grand Chancellor is in a nice waterfront location and the Old Woolstore is fairly central as well. Hobart is too small for any hotel to not be central though..
