LHR T3 lounge crawl Saturday 6 June 2026

Given what is going on in the ME, I am still planning on attending. I was planning to travel to the UK on EK, Mrs&MissN are on QR. For the past week MrsN has been saying we will have to cancel however I convinced her and I have booked a backup option with QF, it had to be in Y via classic plus. Sure not the most comfortable option but it was what was available and will tie in with our flights to the EU (prior to the crawl) and our flight back, at least these will be in the correct part of the plane.

I am currently stuck in the UK (EK flights cancelled) but found some flights with CX out of LHR on Monday night so may do my own solo mini crawl.

Gonna have to pull out of this one as well. Will try to make the next one. Apologies :(

I have updated the table in post #3. Hopefully I have the details right.

Sad that some have to now cancel with the turmoil in the ME. My first transit of DOH is on the way to EU from NA (YUL-DOH-MAD) so I have some options at least if I need them to cover any cancellations.

Well, as long as the world does not shut down, I am all good. Aeroplan were fabulous, put me on their own metal, no extra points required and still in J. So going to CDG via Canada!!

@JessicaTam please update I will be coming from Valencia BA 407, arrive LHR at 12.55pm and then connecting through to the Budapest flight that is already at post 2.

@JessicaTam just calling it out we may drop off the attendance list. Although I have back up flights to get us there and flights home, there is noise about cancelling our entire trip.
A little off topic but tt is going to be interesting to see how many people abandon holidays completely. All my hotels are flexible and I will certainly start price watching soom

As sad as it is, I completely understand.

It is a pity we missed each other by a day. What ever happens ‘happens’ but I can put my hand up and say I did a T3 lounge crawl in 2026. It was not planned (2 days turned into 2 weeks, war in the ME) but as I am familiar with T3, started in QF, moved to BA to use the showers then settled into CX. I was once told if there are no photos it didn’t happen.

There's plenty of award space on the BUD express. I considered changing from LHR-HEL to LHR-BUD-HEL (Hel next day).

Hmm ...

6pm departure after crawl to get to sleep by midnight with 24 hours before departing HEL
versus
9pm departure after crawl to get to sleep by 1am with needing to catch midday flight to HEL.

The latter at a cost of 5K QFF points ±$

I stayed at the BUD Ibis styes last week - its fine, if not exe for a Budapest Ibis.

Nah - I'll get airside at T3 LHR before Noon and board after 5pm.
I have succumbed! I am now on the 2045 BUD express, staying at the Ibis Styles BUD airport.

My original booking has stopover in at HEL to avoid band 3 UK APD. But a few more award seats had opened up recently thus providing the opportunity to revisit and have a stopover at HKG. So I checked things out - my stopover quota for the oneworld classic award had been reached. Removing the HEL stopover and booking LHR-HEL-HKG increased APD by £89. Strangely enough, the basic fare on the BUD express was £89. So have open jawed to BUD-HEL-HKG and booked a separate fare on BA870 to BUD. Cost was 5k points but I received a AUD119 refund.

My routing is now:
Code:
MEL-DRW
DRW-SYD-SIN-HND
HND-SIN-KUL
KUL-LHR
(LHR-BUD)
BUD-HEL-HKG
HKG-MEL

If it goes ahead, this is going to be one epic flight. A bunch of Aussies in J, after hours of drinking in lounges, what can go wrong!! (ps I do drink responsibility in case anyone is worried!!)

When the Dom comes out we all “would like to drink irresponsibly”. Otherwise I’m with you. Less is more
