LHR T3 lounge crawl Saturday 6 June 2026

I will be calling platinum on this shortly, however, to avoid a repeat of NRT where bag check-in was strictly enforced by the CX Police are there any options for early (physical) check-in?
Try HLO and for once leave the trunk at home :) from memory also ran into issues at SIN or HKG. No offence intended we both know each other but my name (handle) may have been different at the time.

Although i can do HLO it would be a challenge on a 25 day trip which also includes Singapore

AY allows early check in and self bag drop at a Kiosk but also there is a flight 2 hours before AY1338 so pretty well sorted

My other strategy (before I found the above) was to use a luggage storage service in London and simply take a smaller bag with me. Preferred not to do that.. When I return back to London from Helsinki will stay at the Pullman St Pancras (also stayed there last year)

WRT accomodation just prior. Have not yet booked and arrive late on June 4th and for that night may just stay near the airport. Possibly also stay near airport on 5th as well so I dont have to deal with dragging luggage into town and then back and also the window between check out and check in

Of course, nothing but the best for @Sprucegoose, if they desire thay can have their baggage collected from their London doorstep and checked-in. Allowing travel to the airport luggage-free and heading straight to security. 😜

I would like to put in a request in advance for all the OWE types who will be attending the crawl. Mrs&MissN (AKA as Mrs&MissM) will be in attendance but are not really interested in the crawl, they invited themselves along for the trip to EU and the UK. I have already informed MrsN that I may be heading to the airport earlier than them as they will have checked luggage. Getting to the airport and checking in will not be a problem for them as they are both experienced travellers.

My request is would the OWE types grant them access to an F lounge and I am guessing that is where they will remain. They will both be on AY J flights out of LHR (they will have J lounge access) and I know some participating in the crawl have met one if not both of them in the past. MrsN is still coming to grips with my fall from P1 and her subsequent fall from WP and not being able to access F lounges.

I dont imagine guest access will pose a problem. Still P1 here
My comment, although made jest, you are one of the guilty culprits who has met my +1 in the SYD F lounge many years back and will most likely catch up with her again in Tallinn if that works out. I know my +1 has also met @JessicaTam (I think more than once), possibly @serfty and others the years a few other AFFers, although Mrs&MissN are not active on AFF they seem to tag along to events that interest them.

@JessicaTam for Post 3 Mrs and Miss M are now Mrs and Miss N, I changed my handle at some point. We will all arrive in London on the Eurostar on/or around 30 May and will be in staying in Kensington for the week. I am still working out if I can catch up with @Mickeyc747 in Paris and @jswong in Tallinn, as mentioned above Mrs&MissN invited themselves to this party. Also in the silver section Miss Matt_01 is mine AKA as MissM or MissN.

I'm now confirmed . At this stage might be BA Silver but there's a chance I'll renew Gold under their horrible changes last year .

Remind me to book special assistance to hop on the plane (BUD 20.45)

Matt,

Be careful getting off the Eurostar............you'll be travelling F of course - that's the part whereIMG_2889.jpegIMG_2887.jpegIMG_2886.jpeg the gap between the train and the platform widens...............
