For the record, despite the email from "Peter Travis", I'm still able to access my account..
I just checked into a Novotel and I asked for my membership number to be added to my booking. The lady at reception was having problems finding my new membership. (Deep down inside I was thinking about this post) so she finished checking me in and then did a search by email. She found my membership as a Platinum, sweet. I used the Amex code - having said that I have never been a Le Club member before.
So if you joined as a Platinum and when you ask to have your membership number added to your booking at check in ask them to look under "Platinum" rather than "New" member.

You really need to ask for the stated benefits as they are generally not offered. Not how it should be, but it is. Also, if you stay somewhere once, you get significantly less recognition than if your returning. I am also Platinum for Priority club and it's worse. You need to purchase an Ambassador membership to add the benefits you would expect to get by being a Platinum member. With Accor's Platinum at least all these benefits are included (as they should be), but again, you need to ask.
