Lucky I double checked the thread. Just been looking for flights for 7 March, not 7 June.

Medhead, it would be disastrous turning up in the wrong country for the lounge run! :D There're interesting trips to be had via QF/MH - PM me if interested ;)

Been discussing potentially going this morning. Need to find a reasonable combination of flights.

Bugger! Should have looked at this thread before booking the last of the MASA speculative bookings. SWMBO & I are flying into SIN (on the 12th) and it appears our cunning plan to extend the booking beyond 365 days was fools gold :(

As the booking stands we have 4 days to fill....

Thought I should add this, there have been some tweaks to the MH KUL-SIN schedule for the date concerned. The new timetable is as per below:

MH611 0925-1020
MH603 1150-1255
MH623 1340-1445
MH619 1445-1545
MH605 1535-1635
MH613 1725-1825
plus a few later ones.

For those who want a lunch landside in SIN, the first 2 flights are the only useful ones.

Although I was planning to make this one, alas something has come up, wife is due around that date. So I will watch this thread around June for pictures or I'll be in the delivery room

That's poor form... you had more than 9 months notice for the lounge crawl! :p

Congratulations on your new addition to the household. I have no doubt that he/she will learn the art of being a frequent flyer very soon.

Thank you!! I've already told my wife that the baby will be getting a QFF account as soon as he/she is able. ;)

Though at least I've done the hard yards this year and re-qualified for WP early (April 2015 requal date) requal'd in 4-5 months so now I have WP til April 2016 at least!

I thought I might give this thread a bump.

QF have sale fares to KUL and SIN for $660 and $649 respectively. Until 3/2.

Any more thoughts on dinner in KUL on the 6th?

Cheap flights, although I'm really dreading flying the 3K sector to KUL after the baggage incident I experienced last year. Oh, 3K also can't priority tag your bag when you check in in KUL and refused to let me pick my bag in SIN to recheck-in. Might just fly up to SIN and find other options up to KUL.

Please ensure that the KUL-SIN sector is on MH. The QF codeshare is on 3K, and you won't be able to have a nice meal in the restaurant section of the MH F lounge.

Also, the lunch in SIN landside is still going ahead, assuming enough interests. Best to get on MH611 9:10am departure from KUL to maximise SIN lounges time. I would pencil in the Long Beach Main branch in the East Coast as they open at 11am on Sundays, unless there are other suggestions where they would open for Sunday lunch (extremely difficult to find).

As for SIN departures, none of the QF flights have the new J config showing at the moment, although it's still a few months away.

The best time to visit the QF lounge is from the opening time of 2.30pm to around 5pm, and from about 8.30pm after QF52 boards. It stays pretty quiet until the QF6 crowd gathers.

The BA lounge also opens from 2.30pm. It generally stays not too busy until before the late night LHR departures.

The EK lounge has the weird opening times of 6.30am-10am, 12pm-3.30pm, 6pm-2am. Access to QF elites flying QF/EK only, of course.

The MH lounge on the other hand, opens at 5am and closes 9pm.

The Skyview, assuming we can get in, opens 24 hours.

And for those with a priority pass, entry to the wellness oasis under the Skyview includes a fish spa.

<snip>

Noted. The sale fares are more for access to the area the day before. I will be flying up on the Friday and then use MH to get to/from SIN on Sunday.

The 0910 flight will mean quite an early start, especially for those who wish to visit more than one lounge in KUL. Would not the 1150 flight still allow time to head somewhere close for lunch? On the train by 1.30 for a 2pm meal and back by 4.30-5pm?

The CX lounge in KUL isn't overly interesting, if anything, it's a 5-min drink and then head out. It's within close proximity to the MH satellite pair of J and F lounges. Then it's back to the MH regional lounge in the main terminal building via the APM, and that's all for OW (and we obviously won't have access to the dom lounge).

If we're to head back to SIN airside at 5pm, it's almost the start of the peak hour for the QF lounge. And given there is QF, BA, EK, Skyview, and then MH in T2, it's too tight for anyone on the 8-ish QF departures. However, QF6 departs just before midnight, and gets us a few extra hours.

My suggestion would be to either:
1. get the 0910 from KUL, and everyone can choose whichever SIN departure they like, or
2. get the 1150 from KUL, and everyone should get QF6 (or any other OW flights departing late evening)

Keep in mind that QF6 is only an A330, so some may have to fly back in Y.
