Krisflyer SQ Waitlist

@serfty A PSA for anyone wanting to click "Confirm Flights" to see how many miles it would be, when you have a waitlist on that PNR.

My situation was a Reserved (Ready to Confirm) SYD-SIN + SIN-MXP, and waitlisted SYD-SIN (Suites) - I was not intending to actually confirm yet, but as soon as I clicked it and returned to the Manage Booking screen, my Waitlist was GONE 😭

This is definitely a quirk, and I can 100% assure you I never clicked "Continue" past the Review page (ie the one that specifically warns that any Waitlisted flights will be dropped if I proceed),

Any insights from anyone on how I can get the waitlisted added again, as its now only just over 3 weeks away, and there are no Waitlists left (let alone redemptions) for any of those flights now. Are SQ team able to make exceptions, where their system has just outright fkd up?

Can you check your "trip list". I'm doing something similar, and your PNR code should be there with the flights you searched for.

@mokuni - Yeah thats not the issue, I don't have a missing PNR in My Bookings. My situation is that I had a waitlisted flight attached to a PNR (a Suites waitlist, I have the F in the morning Reserved), but it just completely disappear from the booking (so now its only the Reserved (ready to Confirm) flights on the PNR now..

Thanks for the heads up.
I now have a PNR with both a confirmed segment and one waitlisted for the next day.
If this waitlist clears, how would I find out?

On the other had, if it has not cleared two weeks out, it will be cancelled -will I get advise to that?

@serfty - Yep it will be cancelled at the 2 weeks mark if not cleared already, you will get an email to confirm this.

You'll get an SMS like this (and/or an email), meaning they will go from Waitlisted, to Reserved (available to be confirmed)

There are new waitlisted flight(s) ready to be completed in booking ref xx_777 by 11 Apr 2022, 20:00 (GMT +8). Please refer to your email for more details. Singapore Airlines

Pay attention to that date, as that is how long the cleared waitlisted flights will be held until (ie, you need to pay the taxes and miles to ensure they become Confirmed and Ticketed)

This will happen anywhere up to 2 weeks before the flight, but if the waitlist is attached to a PNR that has a confirmed flight on it (ie J Confirmed, F waitlisted) then I understand that it will stay after this time up until the flight departs.

100% you will have to call and ask Agent to add a W/L for you - W/Ls are processed by way of:
  1. Status
  2. Date W/L created
Agent may or may not be able to reinstate original W/L - years ago when I had direct access to a Team Leader she could do it but TBH I do not know current situation

Maybe I am not reading your post correctly but it might be a stretch to interpret what has happened as an 'outright fkd up' on the site

Not a stretch at all @Cruiser Elite, there is something positively wrong with the website. Either that, or the Warning that is provided, is one step too late.

I got an SMS a few days ago, relating to the flights available for confirmation, on this same PNR, I had a waitlist for a later flight (Suites) for the first segment of the booking, at at time more convenient (and of course in Suites vs F ;))

I wanted to check how many miles need to be transferred, as I know this doesn't display anywhere except for this screen (as I have done many times over the years). All I did was click "Confirm Available Flights" (but without actually Confirming to Confirm Flights), and then it showed the summary of points required, and of course, the standard warning that if I was to click Next, that it would "The waitlisted segment will be removed should you proceed past the Review page.".

I promptly closed the tab, and didn't click "Next" and yet it still removed the waitlist, making the warning redundant and/or incorrectly place, and essentially fkd up my booking, since there was now no chance to add the Waitlist back since when I requested the SQ agent to do so, they said it had "closed".

RE: your suggestions, unfortunately, no chance adding the waitlist back. Admittedly this was a front line worker, on Kris Chat who also continued to claim the reason my waitlist disappeared was because "the waitlist has been closed", ignoring the fact I indicated to them that at no point did I request or cancel the waitlist, and did not proceed past the point which the system would explicitly remove the waitlist if I confirmed the other flights)

Any idea if its possible to add a wait listed flight that is still available though? I understand your situation is different i.e. the waitlist flight was there previously, but with SQ glitch its gone.

I'm in a scenario where ive got a PNR that has all confirmed flights, but I just need to pay + points to get ticket issued however I want to add a waitlisted flight (its still available). I'm just worried they muck it up and remove existing.

@mokuni , Look upthread - I called and added a waitlist to an existing award booking.
Which has always been the case - I must admit I think there is some info missing from original booking or original W/L which might explain why W/L disappeared when CONFIRM flt button pushed - but I might be wrong and missed something in posts re this booking but I would love to know complete story as we all continue to learn

And again you can easily add a WL to a confirmed ticketed booking - call KF and they will add it for you - sooner the better

Hey guys,

Just booked my first waitlist as my departure flight ( I couldnt select more than 1 flight to waitlist for the same leg per booking, is that right? ) and i have booked an available return leg flight. Now I noticed on the email , it says its reserved but not confirmed till payment is made for the return leg as its part of the waitlist departure booking i guess. Does this mean i can lose the return leg at any time or that i can still keep that even if i dont get the waitlist? Because i definitely want the return leg flight that i have reserved. But I believe if i now go into it and try to make a payment for it, i will automatically lose my waitlist anyway? So i should wait and see how my waitlist goes?

I just went into the management section, and I dont see an option to follow through with the reservation due to the waitlist still there. Does that mean if i dont get the waitlist, i lose my reserved flight back? I am currently overseas so my sim isnt in my phone as i am using another sim, Will they only text if the waitlist becomes available or will they send an email as well?

lonewolf are these separate bookings? IMHO rdpt bookings are always best if booked as 2 seperate bookings - miles reqd and taxes are exactly same if booked as ret booking but it allows so much more flexibility

I would be calling KF and ask them to amend your booking to 2 x separate bookings - this should not be a problem - it will mean you can confirm your Reserved return leg and create whatever WLs you want for outbound - hope that helps
