Just redeemed 2 economy return tickets Melbourne-Johannesburg on SQ. 180,000 points, but booking online 15% off means 153,000 points - includes a Singapore stopver on the way back.

My post is not to rate the value of Krisflyer points to other programs. However, these flights are in 4 weeks and there was no problem with seat availability, nor ticketing.

OK, cost me around $800 in taxes but still left me feeling positive after numerous QF redemption "lack of seat" issues.

I have had many bad experiences with the KrisFlyer program and support desk (missing miles etc) over the years, but my feeling recently is that things on customer support have improved - anyone else find this to be true?

Still wish I could find a Point per $1 credit card program with KrisFlyer - is there one yet?

Congratulations browski on your good fortune and well done for the positive feedback. It sometimes seems that all we here is the negatives. :D :D :D :D

I agree, good to hear a positive story, and their current discount points offer makes it better.

Cathays Asia Miles has good service also (I know - this is a Kris Flyer thread :oops: )

Almost with Diners Club...

2 Diners Reward points (minimum 1500) -> 1 Starwood Point
1 Starwood Point -> 1 Krisflyer Point

Note: for every 20,000 Starpoints transferred, Starwood will automatically add another 5,000 Starpoints to the total

Depending on the promotion etc, you can get 1.5 Diners Reward points per A$1 spent instaed of the usual 1.

BEST CASE SCEANRIO: For A$26,667 spent, you could get 25,000 Krisflyer Points
