Singapore Airlines is offering bonus miles for referring friends and family to the KrisFlyer program during the month of February.

You'll get 500 KrisFlyer miles for each new member that joins by 29 February, provided they have at least one transaction on their account by 31 May 2020. This is capped at 10,000 bonus miles per member. The top 3 referrers also win 21,000 KrisFlyer miles each.

If you have a partner/children/parents that aren't already members, it's easy miles (albeit in small amounts).

I also received this "offer" e-mail today and just laughed before deleting it - I mean 500 points per referral (and only if that person has an eligible transaction) - would only be useful IMO if these miles (or any additional miles) reset the expiry date of all miles. Also I would never refer a friend to anything (unless I spoke to them first and they felt it was useful for them). Compared to various credit card referrals this offer is truly a joke. However I still love KF.

A timely post. My friend was just signing up ahead of a flight and texted me to ask “should I put you in as a referral?”

thank you

Sure if someone I knew was considering joining I would try to refer them but for 500 points I won’t be bothering to spend the time to actively recruit anyone.

Well one can understand why though. The old BMI for example was extremely lucrative due to the joining points, family pooling and easy points for quick surveys.

I never spent a cent with them, but redeemed a dozen Business flights in Europe and 2000 Pounds of accommodation in London. ;)

Credit cards which earn frequent flyer points is a popular way to earn frequent flyer points. You can receive thousands of points on everyday spend. And, many of these cards offer generous signup bonuses! Compare to find the credit card that best suits your needs.
